An automated banking machine is provided. The automated banking machine may include a fascia in operative connection with a frame. The machine may include a plurality of hardware devices which are accessible through the fascia. The hardware devices may include a cash dispenser, receipt printer, and a card reader. The machine includes a frame in operative connection with a chest. A top panel and at least one side panel are slidably connectable with the frame. When a door of the frame is in the closed position, the top panel is not capable of being slid out of operative connection with the frame. When the top panel is in operative connection with the frame, the at least one side panel is not capable of being slid out of operative connection with the frame.

A cooling system within the machine housing is operative to cool air in the housing. The cooling system includes temperature sensors, an air duct, a blower, and an air cooling device. The duct extends between the separated chest portion and the upper portion. The chest portion houses the blower, which is operative to move air through the duct. A controller can operate the air cooling device to maintain the air temperature in both the upper portion and the chest portion within a predetermined temperature range.

The bezels may include ramps, ribs, or other angled surfaces which guide the hardware devices into alignment with the openings in the bezels.

Opening the first fascia portion also enables access to an actuator () which enables moving a second fascia portion () for conducting service activities. A baffle structure () is positioned on the housing adjacent the second fascia portion to enable cooling air flow within the housing of the machine and to prevent the introduction of moisture into the housing. A controller () in the machine selectively illuminates light emitting devices () for purposes of facilitating user operation of the machine. Servicing the machine is facilitated through use of a portable diagnostic article () which enables the controller to access diagnostic data stored in memory.
