Adaptor for shockproof socket

The method for stabilizing the voltage of an AC generator with varying (alternating) rotor speed is characterized in that the voltage generated by an AC generator is maintained constant when the rotor speed changes. The control is carried out without the use of electrical contacts by means of a high-frequency pulse generator. The transformer of the high-frequency pulse generator is divided. The rotating part is provided on the rotor axis and the other part is stationary outside the rotor. Both parts are separated by an air gap. Deviations from a preset output voltage are controlling the pulse generator whose pulses are transmitted by the transformer to the power section of the rotor. The complete power section consisting of the coil and the electronic switch is arranged on the rotor so as to transmit only control currents without physical contact.

Apparatus and method for stabilizing the voltage of an AC generator with variable rotor speed

Fittings for adapting conventional fluorescent light fixtures to receive smaller-diameter T5 fluorescent tubes are described. The fittings include transparent tubes adapted to fit around the small-diameter T5 light, electronic components for supplying high-frequency current, and insulation caps having pins which correspond to the receptacle for the lamp that is being replaced.

Light fittings for retrofitting large-diameter inductive fluorescent lamps to smaller-diameter electronic T5-lamps

A flat reflector lamp for fluorescent bulbs is described. The lamp has a self-supporting reflector with an enclosed hollow portion for mounting an electronic ballast. Electrical sockets on a pair of lamp end plates function as mounts for fluorescent lamps. A circuit board mounted on guide strips within the enclosed hollow portion of the lamp has spring contacts in electrical contact with at least one of the electrical sockets.

A DC/AC converter is provided for contactless, inductive transfer of energy, which transfers arbitrary voltages to a removable user with the aid of a high-frequency pulse generator. The pulse generator produces asymmetric pulses, which provides two different voltages to the user, depending on a to coupling orientation. Further, the pulse generator is built in such a way that, if a user is absent, it is not excited to oscillation and, as a result, uses substantially no energy at all in a stand-by operation.

A fluorescent lamp having electrical conduits on the outer surface of the gas discharge vessel. Electrical power is supplied to one end of the fluorescent tube, via a ballast assembly which is connected to a first electrode in the tube. The electrical conduits on the outer surface of the tube carry power to the electrode at the other end of the tube, thus eliminating the need for wiring within the tube mounting assembly.

The invention concerns a construction kit system for fluorescent lamps (,) with separate choke unit. Standard low-power modules which are cheap and easy to manufacture can in particular be plugged in any combinations into choke units fitted as compact lights or in lamp housings. A number of examples are given to show the new possibilities for constructing lighting systems. These fluorescent lamps each have a replaceable light element comprising at least one gas discharge vessel (,) with a base at one end as the light element and at least one choke unit (,) in the form of a separate unit fitted in a housing and capable of electrical connection via plug connectors (,) to the light element. The light element is designed as a standard low-power module with a glass tube diameter of the gas discharge vessel of no more than 13 mm, thus allowing it to be plugged into different housings individually or in groups.

Contact-safe base-and-socket system for lighting fixtures

The invention describes a method for the modulation of the light intensity of fluorescent lamps via the supply main by modification of the form and/or the amplitude of the power supply provided. An electronic control element, provided as a component of the logical circuit, temporarily blocks current flow after at least every second zero-crossing of the voltage, dependent upon time and/or voltage. Blocking of the current flow occurs only during the time period in which there is no flow of charging current for the downstream direct-current mains supply circuit. The advantage thus obtained is that the control pulses for the logical circuit do not influence the electric current flowing through the fluorescent lamps.

Method and device for the modulation of the intensity of fluorescent lamps

The invention concerns a new improved alternative to the previous Edison sockets and the so-called bayonet sockets which are used to mount electric lights. A lamp base and socket are provided which have cooperating profiled surfaces which serve to guide the lamp base into its proper position in the socket and to lock the base into position. Supporting surfaces are provided on the lamp base and lamp socket which form a pivot for releasing the lamp from the socket. Despite high locking forces, a tilting movement of the lamp and the lever translation produced by moving these surfaces permits easy release of the lamp from the socket.

Method and device for locking of electrical plug-in connections for lamps

The invention concerns a gas discharge lamp or vessel wherein at least part of the lamp is in the form of a spiral. The windings of the coils forming the spiral are tightly-spaced (less than 1 mm apart). In addition to providing high amounts of light, the compact packaging resulting from the design offers safety advantages in that the electrical contacts are located deep within the vessel interior. Thus, the opportunity of contacting live electrical contacts in the event of glass breakage is lessened.

Single-based gas discharge vessel for energy-saving lamps

A shockproof (touch-safe) lamp holder and adapter system which replaces conventional screw-type holders and bayonet holders is disclosed. The lamp holder complies with the list of requirements demanded by testing authorities for many years. The new lamp sockets can be used with an adapter in conventional lamp holders, and the requirement that the adapter cannot be removed again after insertion without any tools is fulfilled by a reversing lock.
