Plastic bobbin carrier

In an axially compressible lap carrier for taking up threads or yarns with parallel running elements (3, 10, 13), the latter are provided with axially protruding bulges (4, 14). When this lap carrier is in the compressed state, the bulges (4, 14) of adjoining ring elements (3, 10, 13) engage in each other. In the area of these bulges (4, 14) tie bars (7) are provided between the adjoining ring elements (3, 10, 13). These tie bars (7) are flexible and their outer edges are displaced radially inwards with respect to the winding surface (FIG. 1).

Axially telescopic coil carrier parallel to each other

In a coil carrier for receiving threads and yarns and comprising webs which extend substantially parallel to the axis and are interconnected by circumferential supporting rings, the foot section defines a receptacle for a head section of an adjacent like coil carrier. The coil carrier comprises a supporting member and a sliding member axially displaceable relatively thereto, the external diameters of the supporting and sliding members being substantially equal.

In a coil carrier wth only one end ring provided with radially inwardly open apertures and carrier elements extending parallel to the axis of the coil carrier, the elements are divided into two sections of which the section adjacent the end ring is formed with two limbs which converge at an acute angle to the end of this section remote from the end ring. The second section is formed by a rod element extending parallel to the axis of the coil carrier. Axially aligned such coil carriers can be telescoped one into the other.
