The invention pertains to a safety cabinet with an interior enclosed by a housing and with a housing front comprising a working opening that can be closed with a height-adjustable front pane. The safety cabinet exhibits a fixed operating unit for controlling device functions that is integrated into the housing. A remote operating unit for controlling device functions that is spatially separated from the safety cabinet is also present. A receiver for receiving control signals emitted by the remote operating unit is also integrated into the safety cabinet. The remote operating unit not connected to the housing of the safety cabinet can be taken into the interior of the safety cabinet and removed from it by the operator without the necessity for the hands to touch nonsterile areas to operate the safety cabinet. Thereby the danger of contamination by entraining contaminants from the exterior into the interior is markedly reduced.

Remotely operable safety cabinet

The invention pertains to a safety cabinet with a workspace that is surrounded by a housing and is accessible on the front side of the housing through a work opening that can be closed with an adjustable front window. The safety cabinet comprises a safety monitoring system for monitoring various device functions. The safety monitoring system also contains a processor that computationally links measuring data determined during the monitoring of predetermined device functions and/or device parameters stored in the safety monitoring system in such a way that a characteristic number is obtained as the result of the calculation, wherein said characteristic number makes it possible to deduce the entire status of the safety cabinet.

A laboratory workbench includes a housing bounding a working space. The working space communicates with the exterior through a window bordering the working space on one of its sides thereof. A fan produces a flow of air in the working space and out the window. A protective screen is arranged on the housing in such a way that it can be moved. Specifically, the protective screen is mounted on the housing in the top area of the working space window in such a way that the protective screen can be moved between a hanging position at least partially covering the window, and a folded-up position. In the folded-up position, the protective screen projects into the housing in a substantially horizontal position plane. In one embodiment, an expansion screen is movable attached to the protective screen and has reach through openings formed therethrough.

Laboratory workbench

A safety work bench with a work opening, whose lower boundary is formed by a boundary plate in which ventilation openings are arranged for the generation of a vertical air current, has at least one arm rest installed in the lower area of the work opening. In order to create a safety work bench in which the arm rests are easy to decontaminate, and in order not to significantly diminish the effective cross section of the ventilation openings, the arm rests are constructed as a separate structural member and are detachably mounted on the boundary plate at a distance from it.
