In a method for treating at least one eye of a patient in need of such treatment with a pulsed electrical stimulation signal, first an individual parameter of the patient is determined, thereafter at least one stimulation parameter of the pulsed electrical stimulation signal is set depending on the at least one individual parameter, and then the pulsed electrical stimulation signal is applied to the at least one eye.

Method for treating an eye

An active retinal implant () to be implanted into an eye has an array () of stimulation elements () that emit stimulation signals to cells of the retina, wherein the stimulation elements () are designed as radiation-emitting elements.

A device for electrostimulation of the eye is provided with a spectacles-like supporting frame () which has a nose part () and an arrangement (), connected to the nose part (), for holding the supporting frame () on the head of the patient, wherein at least one stimulation electrode () is arranged on the nose part (). Furthermore, provision is made for at least two electrode holders () on the nose part (), between which electrode holders an interchangeable, wire-shaped stimulation electrode () is clamped (FIG.).
