A business form has a self-contained ID card which is mounted in such a way that the form has uniform thickness and can readily pass through an impact or non-impact printer, and indicia can be applied to both the top and bottom faces of the ID card by the printer. A first sheet has a first cutout and a first thickness, and an ID card of the same shape and slightly less dimensions, and about the same thickness, is disposed within the cutout. The card is held in the cutout by a backing overlapping at least part of the first cutout bottom face with readily releasable adhesive disposed on the top face of the backing overlapping the cutout and engaging the bottom of the card. The backing may be first and second parallel pieces of tape, or it may be second sheet with a second die cut out in substantial alignment with the first cut out but having lesser dimensions.

A security label is constructed from label stock having top and bottom faces. A release coat is provided on the label stock bottom face, a non-opaque tie coat provided on the release coat, and an opaque coat of permanent pressure sensitive adhesive provided on the tie coat. The tie coat has a significantly greater affinity for the adhesive than for the release coat. Indicia, such as reverse printed alphanumeric characters, is provided on the tie coat substantially between the adhesive and the tie coat so that 'void', or a similar security designation, is indicated if the label stock is removed. A release liner may cover the permanent pressure sensitive adhesive, or paper stock having a second tie coat with repositional adhesive over the tie coat may be provided engaging the permanent pressure sensitive adhesive.

A business form which allows indicia on a paper sheet to be protected, and provides a removable security covering too, is constructed from an intemediate. The intermediate includes a first paper sheet having a quadrate configuration including two longitudinal edges, and a face and back, and a fold line at a central portion, dividing the sheet into first and second portions. A pattern of repositional adhesive is disposed on the sheet face first portion, and indicia is disposed on the sheet face second portion. A transparent plastic film having a face and back and dimensions about the same as those of the first sheet first portion is disposed over the sheet face first portion and is removably attached to it by the repositional adhesive. Permanent adhesive is disposed on the plastic film back. A second sheet having a release material face and dimensions about the same as the first sheet first portion is disposed in removable contact with the permanent adhesive. The business form is constructed by removing the second sheet from the permanent adhesive and folding the second portion of the first sheet into contact with the permanent adhesive; and ultimately removing the first sheet first portion from the plastic film. The business form may be produced, in part, in continuous format on a press.

A document carrier assembly for processing a plurality of documents through a microfilming machine is provided which includes a web of paper having an upper and lower surface, at least the upper surface having a low tack adhesive layer applied thereon; a liner overlying the upper surface of the web and the low tack adhesive layer, the liner having a self-contained carbonless coating on an upper surface thereof; and a clear plastic film overlying the liner. The carrier assembly may be formed with a mirror image construction on the opposite side thereof to create a double sided carrier.

Supply paper is provided at spaced longitudinal positions along one side with a repositionable adhesive. A receptive coating comprised of a CF oil-based ink is applied at spaced longitudinal positions along the opposite of the paper, the positions along opposite sides of the paper being out of registration one with the other. The paper is cut into strips, assembled to form pads with the repositionable adhesive holding the paper strips one to the other at one end thereof. A paper strip may be removed from the pad and flexed to form a band with opposite ends overlying one another with the adhesive in contact with the receptive coating. The repositionable adhesive and receptive coating cooperate to provide enhanced adhesion.

A continuous business form has a carrier sheet formed of conventional paper (i.e., without a wax or silicone coating) and a forms portion adhered to the carrier sheet by release adhesive (transfer adhesive) adhered to the underside of the forms portion. The forms portion may be peeled from the carrier sheet for application and adherence to another surface while the carrier sheet may be used as paper, for example, for use in impact printing processes.

By combining a pad having a repositionable adhesive with a carbonless imaging system, multiple copies of a writing on the top sheet of the pad are provided. These features have application in pads for memos, inter-office correspondence, and notes. A user may select the desired set of copies by removing the required number of sheets from the pad. If a divider is provided with each pad, e.g. a cardboard or a hard insert sheet, the multiple pages are imaged before they are removed from the pad by inserting the divider into the pad after counting the appropriate number of sheets to be copied. Thus, the divider prevents copying and imaging throughout the entire pad.

A pad is provided of a stack of preprinted sheets grouped set by set in at least one set, at least some sheets of which differ in some way from the others by virtue of the information, indicia, routing indicator, pattern of carbonless back-coating, color or the like. Within the pad, each sheet is serially connected to its neighbors along at least one respective margin of each, at least one of these connections in each set being by means of a strip of non-drying, lightly tacky pressure-sensitive adhesive, e.g. so as to provide a multiple part business form set or a pad of several multiple part business form part sets stacked in series, in which at least some of the sheets are connected to adjacent sheets at least generally in accordance with the way that is disclosed in Swiss Pat. No. 452,479.

A pad is made up of sheets adhered one to the next by a releasable adhesive in which the adhesive is distributed on the sheets over more than a minor area of the sheets to more positively hold the sheets down on a surface to which applied, but retaining free edges to facilitate lifting off of the sheets by the user.

Each unit of the stock for a match-the-hidden-indicia game includes a base sheet printed on one face with a visually ascertainable pattern of indicia, and a cover sheet also printed on one face with a visually ascertainable pattern of indicia which may or may not match the pattern on the base sheet. The one face of the base sheet on at least a band including the pattern of indicia, is provided with a transparent coating of permanent adhesive, and a liner layer is facially adhered thereto. The relative attraction of the permanent adhesive for the one surface of the base sheet and the liner layer is such that any attempt to remove the liner layer will substantially disrupt the one surface, thus giving evidence of an attempt to tamper with the pattern of indicia on the base sheet. The cover sheet is temporarily facially bonded to the liner layer or base sheet in such a way as to obscure the pattern of indicia on the base sheet from view until the temporary bonding of the cover sheet to the liner layer is disrupted, e.g. by peeling or tearing it away.
