A device and a method for ultrasonic testing by means of a local immersion technique of a stringer component section of a flat component are provided. The device includes a test head assembly mounted as moving floatingly by a holding device in the Y-direction longitudinally. The test head assembly includes: a test head that can be connected to an automatically actuated handling device and that can be moved by the handling device along the stringer; a test head holder; and a counter-holder coupled with the test head holder by an actuation element, wherein the actuation element is configured to steer the test head holder and the counter-holder from a closed position to an open position, the test head holder and the counter-holder being mounted floatingly along a guiding rail running in the X-direction transversely to the stringer, and fit, in a force-loaded manner, to each side surface of the stringer.

Method and device for ultrasonic testing of a component

A planar probe for the coupling of ultrasonic signals to a planar component to be tested by means of water-free jet technology is provided. The planar probe includes: at least one preflow chamber; a flow chamber located downstream of at least one preflow chamber, wherein the flow chamber extends through a slot-shaped water outlet opening to a lower surface of the planar probe; a probe, wherein a lateral surface of the probe comprises emitting/receiving elements and forms an inner wall section of the flow chamber; a base body for the reception of the probe; and a sliding plate comprising the slot-shaped water outlet opening, whose planar extension along the component is larger than the planar extension of the base body along the component, wherein the planar probe is connected to the sliding plate.

Planar probe head and ultrasonic testing device and method for a component

The invention relates to a method for processing signals which are generated by the reflection of ultrasonic waves by defects in the surface of objects during the non-destructive testing of objects such as pipes, bars, sheet metal, or uniform and complex carbon-fiber components. Said method comprises the following steps: emission of a complete wavefront onto at least one test section of the object, using a plurality of independent emission elements; receiving a wave reflected by the structure of the object by means of a plurality of receiver elements that are independent of one another; digitalization of the signals received by the receiver elements in digitizing steps; continuous modification of delay values and/or the number of receiver elements for each digitalization step (on-the-fly).

Method for the non-destructive testing of objects using ultrasound

The invention relates to an ultrasound probe arrangement () for coupling ultrasonic signals toward a component (), which is to be inspected, by using the water open jet method, with a probe (), which is placed inside a jet nozzle () and having a multitude of ultrasonic transmitting and/or receiving elements () and at least one liquid inlet () as well as at least one liquid outlet (). In order to improve the flow of water inside the jet nozzle, the invention provides that: one or more preliminary or filter chambers (FK, FK, FK) are situated upstream from a flow space (); each preliminary or filter chamber (FK, FK, FK) comprises a dividing wall (TW, TW, TW) having flow channels (SK, SK, SK) running perpendicular to the direction of flow; the number of flow channels (SK, SK, SK) in each dividing wall (TW, TW, TW) increases in the direction of flow, and; the diameter of the flow channels (SK, SK, SK) in each dividing wall (TW, TW, TW) decreases in the direction of flow.

Ultrasound probe arrangement

A method and circuit arrangement for processing signals which are produced during disturbance-free examination of objects such as pipes or sheet metal, by reflecting ultrasonic waves at defective spots on the structure of the object. According to the method, a complete wave front is emitted on at least one section of the object which is to be examined by means of a plurality of independent transmitting elements, a wave reflected by the structure of the object is received by means of a plurality of receiving elements which are independent of each other, the signals received by the receiving elements are digitalized, and the digitalized signals are stored in a storage element according to amplitude and propagation time. In order to detect defective points on the structure of the object in a faster manner with improved signal/noise ratio, the defective points are detected by a phase-locked addition of the stored amplitude values of the propagation time.
