A system for concurrent CAx workflow includes a collaborative server that manages a model of an engineering object, the model comprising at least design data and analysis data corresponding to the design data, a design client for editing of the design data by a design user, an analysis client for editing of the analysis data by an analysis user concurrent with editing of the design data by the design user; and wherein the collaborative server and the analysis client are collectively configured (i.e., one or both are configured) to enable the analysis user to edit the analysis data, view a plurality of geometric elements within the design data, and create a reference within the analysis data to a selected geometric element of the plurality of geometric elements within the design data. A corresponding apparatus, method, and computer-readable medium are also disclosed herein.

System and method for concurrent multi-user CAx workflow

A computer-implemented method for multi-user CAx editing of a model of a design object may include (1) identifying one or more geometric elements referenced in response to creating a feature within the model of the design object, (2) receiving a feature operation that references the geometric elements referenced in response to creating the feature, (3) in response to receiving the feature operation, identifying a geometric element referenced by the feature operation, and (4) generating a unique persistent label for the geometric element. Various other methods and systems are also disclosed herein.

Multi-user CAx editing of a model of a design object

A method for collaborative finite analysis may include obtaining an electronic model of an engineering object, assigning users one or more geometries for pre-analysis editing to provide assigned geometries for each user, and enabling each user to conduct pre-analysis editing of their assigned geometries concurrent with other users. The method may also include conducting finite analysis on the assigned geometries of a first user concurrent with conducting finite analysis on the assigned geometries of a second user. Examples of pre-analysis editing include removing features that are secondary to analysis, applying a material definition to a geometry, pre-meshing a geometry, initiating automated meshing of a geometry, validating automated meshing of a geometry, editing a mesh for a geometry, manually meshing a geometry, defining one or more loads associated with a geometry, and defining one or more boundary conditions for a geometry. A corresponding system and apparatus are also disclosed herein.

Multi-user finite analysis systems apparatuses and methods

A computer-implemented method for preventing reference invalidation when reversing operations in synchronous collaborative applications may include (i) storing, on a client, a shared model of an engineering object including one or more features, (ii) receiving, from a user, an operation to be performed on the feature, (iii) before performing the operation, storing, in a command stack on the client, information sufficient to restore the feature to a state prior to performing the operation, (iv) receiving, from the user, a request to reverse the operation, (v) determining whether reversing the operation will create an invalid reference due to a conflicting operation having been performed on the feature at a second client, and (vi) in response to determining whether reversing the operation will create an invalid reference, reversing the operation or performing a resolution operation to prevent the reference invalidation. A system corresponding to the above method is also disclosed.

Method for preventing reference invalidation when reversing operations in synchronous collaborative applications

A method for collaborative CAx editing may include enabling a user to define a partitioning constraint for a design space and partitioning the design space into editing regions according to the partitioning constraint and assigning users to specific editing regions. The method may also include displaying a feature tree, enabling a user to select and lock a selected feature for editing by a specified user, enabling the specified user to edit the selected feature and blocking access from other users to the selected feature. An apparatus corresponding to the above method is also disclosed herein.

One apparatus includes a selection module that receives a selection by a local user of an information handling device to display an application screen of a remote user of multiple remote users. The application screen of the remote user displays a project used by the multiple remote users in a collaborative environment. The apparatus includes a display module that displays on the information handling device the application screen of the remote user. The application screen of the remote user is updated immediately as modifications to the project are made.

The device control system includes a host device providing a graphical interface for a user to control various electronic devices throughout a home, building, or industrial plant. For example, a machine tool for machining stock material, and the data generating system includes a computer-aided-design software package (). Alternatively, the design file can be used to specify motion paths rather than end product geometry. The CAD interpreter application extracts the motion path data from the design file, eliminating the need to translate the data into another or intermediate form for controlling the machine tool.

A method for controlling a mechanism through the use of higher-dimensional n-curves is disclosed. An electronically-controlled mechanism is provided. Electronic communication is established between a computer and the electronically-controlled mechanism. A method for calibrating a tool control frame (TCF) on a robot with respect to a known calibration reference claim (CRF), wherein the (CRF) is in rigid body relationship with a robot link. The method includes the steps of (a) attaching a sensory tool to the robot link, (b) calibrating the sensory tool with appropriate units of measurement, (c) identifying a calibration feature to be mapped by the sensory tool, (d) causing relative movement of the calibration feature within sensing range of the sensory tool, (e) recording robot configuration and pose as a first data record, (f) causing relative movement of the calibration feature and sensory tool along a known direction to a new position within sensing range, (g) recording configuration and pose as a second data record, and (h) applying coordinate transformations to the respective data records to generate a correct tool control frame (TCF) pose with respect to the (CRF).

A method and device for improving orientation and/or location accuracy of a programmable robot with respect to a target object. The method consists of calibrating the position of a terminal control frame associated with a robot end-effector which is coupled to a robot distal link. Separated reference positions external from the robot are identified, as to geometry and spatial data. This identification data is stored for later recall and comparison for use in determining a localized relative frame of reference. The robot end-effector is moved to a first reference position and a rigid body error correction is determined. This correction is stored in computer memory for application to later computer movement.
