An improved tamper resistant bottle cap and neck for bottles which hold liquid. The bottle cap of the present invention includes a circular cover, a skirt depending from the periphery of the cover, and a tamper evidencing lower portion. A raised ring formed on the outer and upper surface of the bumper roll typically used in blow-molded containers protects the lower edge of the cap from tampering by making the lower edge of the ratchet ring in the case of a thread-on cap (or the lower edge of the removable portion of a skirt in the case of a push-on cap) less accessible to potential tamperers. Thread-on caps with helical threads and a ratchet ring, or push-on caps with skirts having removable lower portions, may each be equipped with an arched or curved pull tab. The pull tab in each instance is designed to accommodate a raised ring on the bumper roll of the neck of a blow-molded bottle. By designing the pull tab to accommodate the raised ring on the bumper roll the presence of the ring does not induce unwanted stresses and deformations into the pull tab or the skirt or ratchet ring to which the pull tab is connected.

Tamper resistant bottle cap and neck

A tamper resistant bottle cap and neck for a threaded blow molded bottles which hold liquid, such as milk. The bottle cap and neck combination has an enhanced tamper evidency feature wherein a circumferential lip is formed at the outside edge of the interface between the cap and the neck. The lip protects the contents of the bottle by limiting the ability of potential tamperers to pry or bend upwardly the rachet ring at lower edge of the cap.

A cap for use with a dispensing system. The cap includes a main outer cap and an inner cap. The main outer cap has a central sleeve which receives and seals against a probe. The inner cap moves into and out of a sealing engagement with the central tube as the bottle is raised and lowered over the probe. The seal between the inner cap and the central tube is located on the outside surface of the central tube. The location of the connection between the inner cap and the probe is displaced away from the location of the connection between the inner cap and the sleeve of the main outer cap. This allows the cap to have effective differentials between the forces which are necessary to achieve proper sequencing of the formation of the various seals and connections which occur during use of the cap.

Valved bottle cap

An improved, tamper-evident label and bottle cap to be used with standard five gallon bottles; such bottle cap of the type having a central tube section capable of receiving a dispensing probe which is part of a dispensing system. A micro-thin, plastic label is heat-sealed to the face of the bottle cap, thereby protecting the central tube section from any external contaminants. An edge of the label is left unsealed to provide a means for peeling the label from the bottle cap when the bottle is to be installed. By virtue of the heat-sealing method of attachment, the tamper-evident label cannot be reattached to the face of the bottle cap, or any other surface, once it is removed.

Protective tamper-evident label and bottle cap

A cap for use with bottled water dispensing systems. The cap includes a main outer cap and an inner cap. The main outer cap has a central sleeve which receives and seals against a probe. The inner cap moves into and out of a sealing engagement with the central tube as the bottle is raised and lowered over the probe. The seal between the inner cap and the central tube is located on the outside surface of the central tube. The inner cap has a guide sleeve which centers the inner cap about the central tube, which is particularly important to achieve a proper attachment of the inner cap to the central tube during removal of the bottle from its support. The locations of the various components of the cap allow the cap to have effective differentials between the forces which are necessary to achieve proper sequencing of the formation of the various seals and connections which occur during use of the cap.

A system for securely placing threaded caps on threaded containers. The system includes a cap feeding device which facilitates the initial placement of caps on container necks. After initial placement, the cap and container are brought into engagement with a spindle assembly which grips the cap and prevents rotation of the container. The spindle assembly engages a is brought into contact with a rotation inducing device, which causes the tightening of the cap onto the container neck. The chuck of the spindle assembly and the rotation inducing device each have the ability to prevent overtightening of the cap onto the container. In addition, the cap and container are specially configured to facilitate initial placement in a manner which reduces the possibility of misalignment.

System for installing closures on containers

An injection molded threaded cap for use with containers of varying dimensions. The cap of the present invention includes a cover from which depends an integral plug. An auxiliary sealing ring is disposed at the outside base of the plug to compensate for differences between the diameter of the plug and the diameter of the opening to be sealed by the cap. To prevent doming of the cover of the cap, the underside of the cover has shrinkage resistance formations which provide the cap with structural resistance to the effects of shrinkage. The cap of the present invention further includes a ratchet ring having ratchet teeth designed to enhance the tamper-evidency of the frangible ratchet ring.

Closure

An injection molded threaded cap for use with containers of varying dimensions. The cap of the present invention includes a cover from which depends an integral plug. An auxiliary sealing ring is disposed at the outside base of the plug to compensate for differences between the diameter of the plug and the diameter of the opening to be sealed by the cap. To prevent doming of the cover of the cap, the underside of the cover has shrinkage resistance formations which provide the cap with structural resistance to the effects of shrinkage. The cap of the present invention further includes a ratchet ring having ratchet teeth designed to enhance the tamper-evidency of the frangible ratchet ring. In an alternative embodiment, the cap includes a thread form which reduces the amount of rotation required to install the cap onto a bottle neck. The thread form includes thread segments which result in less resin being used to form the cap and which results in the formation of an unthreaded area at the base of the inside surface of the skirt of the cap. The unthreaded area facilitates the initial engagement of the cap and the bottle neck. The alternative embodiment also includes a spline arrangement which provides the cap with an anti-stripping feature.

A unitary closure for a spice dispenser includes a spooning cap and a sifter cap which are provided with respective protuberances and niches which cooperate in an overcentering arrangement for positively locking either cap in the fully opened, upright condition and concomitantly preventing both caps from being raised at the same time.

Snap-up cover for spice dispenser

A tamperproof closure for a bottle or other container having a neck portion with an external rib comprises a cap body of flexible, resilient material. This cap body includes an annular rim and a pair of skirts depending respectively from the inboard and outboard edges of this rim. The outboard skirt is provided with an internal rib that is adapted for lockable coaction with the bottle neck rib; and a circular top panel is connected to the inboard skirt to cooperate with the inboard skirt in defining a recess for receiving a cap-mounting tool. In accordance with the invention, the rim and its connection with the skirts cooperate to define a resilient hinge section.

Snap-on tamperproof bottle cap

A pouring spout member that is arranged for assembly to the mouth of the container includes a tubular spout and an initially longitudinally extending, anti-drip finger. A cooperating closure cap member deformably engages the anti-drip finger upon assembly with the pouring spout member to convert the finger to its use position.
