An automatic autonomous redundant switch configured for providing energy from either a first power source or a second power source to a load is provided. The automatic switch includes a first automatic transfer switch (ATS) and a second ATS. The automatic switch further includes an interconnecting bus configured to connect the first ATS and the second ATS, and at least one controller configured to control the operation of the first ATS and the second ATS. Still further, the first ATS and the second ATS each include a respective transfer-switch mechanism, a respective bus attachment configured to connect to the interconnecting bus, and a respective motorized rack-out mechanism having a powered actuator.

Methods and systems for autonomous redundant control

A transfer switch including a lockout-tagout assembly and lockout-tagout method are provided. An example method includes a latch of a transfer switch actuating a first switch, wherein actuating the first switch sends an inhibit signal to an electronic controller of the transfer switch. The example method further includes the latch actuating a second switch, wherein actuating the second switch opens operator cutoff thereby preventing function of an operator assembly of the transfer switch. Still further, the example method includes, after the latch actuating the first switch and the second switch, locking the latch so as to mechanically prevent the source contact from closing.

Lockout-tagout systems and methods

A movable contact assembly for use with a transfer switch, the moveable contact assembly comprising a center portion, a first conductor portion extending from the center portion, the first conductor portion comprising a first arm comprising two longitudinal extending fingers; and a second conductor portion extending from the center portion, the second conductor portion comprising a second arm comprising two longitudinally extending fingers. The moveable contact assembly may be pivoted about the center portion from a first position to a second position. In the first position, the two longitudinally extending fingers of the first conductor portion resides in a conductive state with a blade connector of a first stationary contact assembly and in the second position, the two longitudinally extending fingers of the second conductor portion resides in a conductive state with a blade connector of a second stationary contact assembly.

Parallel type transfer switch contacts assemblies

A bus connector configured for receiving a bus is provided. An example bus connector includes a plurality of contact fingers configured to engage with the bus. The plurality of contact fingers include a first set of contact fingers and a second set of contact fingers arranged substantially parallel to one another, and the first set and second set clamp the bus when the bus is inserted between the first set and the second set. The bus connector further includes a connector frame, wherein the connector frame is configured to hold the plurality of contact fingers. The plurality of contact fingers includes contact fingers of a first length and contact fingers of a second length, wherein the second length is different than the first length.

Bus connector with reduced insertion force

A multi-position apparatus for use with a system operated in at least three distinct positions. The apparatus comprises (i) a position-selection mechanism, (ii) a first link mechanism and a second link mechanism, each link mechanism being operably coupled with the position-selection mechanism, (iii) a first weight-actuated spring mechanism operably coupled with the first link mechanism, (iv) a second weight-actuated spring mechanism operably coupled with the second link mechanism, (vi) a first output-actuating member operably coupled with the first weight-actuated spring mechanism, the first output-actuating member being arranged to operably communicate with the system, and (vii) a second output-actuating member operably coupled with the second weight-actuated spring mechanism. In one example, the system may be an electrical transfer switch having two separate set of electrical contacts.
