A measurement system unit for a tomography computer in which individual detectors are connected with corresponding channel electronic systems directly, that is, without the need for a cable. For this purpose, a carrier plate is provided, on one side of which the individual detectors are mounted, and on the other side of which are mounted a series of electronic boards. Each of the electronic boards carries the channel electronic system of the detector that is located opposite to it. On the carrier plate there can be fastened a printed circuit board which partially covers it. The electronic boards are connected mechanically and electrically with the carrier plate and mechanically and electrically with the printed circuit board.

Measurement system unit for a computer tomograph

An exemplary embodiment comprises a patient support, a radiation source which generates a radiation beam penetrating the radiography subject, a radiation receiver which converts the radiation intensity behind the subject into electric signals, a measurand converter for the conversion of the electric signals delivered by the radiation receiver into an optically visible image, and a rotating frame assembly on which the radiation source and the radiation receiver are mounted and which, for the purpose of scanning the radiography subject from various directions, is rotatably mounted about an axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the patient support. The rotating radiation source is adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the patient support jointly with movement of the patient support so that several parallel transverse layers of the radiography subject can be very rapidly scanned.

Radiation diagnostic apparatus

In an exemplary embodiment, the current supply of the x-ray tube proceeds via a slip ring arrangement with sliding contacts arranged between the rotating frame and the stationary apparatus part. The slip ring arrangement with the sliding contacts is provided between two coaxial rings of which one is connected with the rotating frame, and the other is stationary. The rings have axially projecting intermeshing ribs, and the central openings of the rings are designed for the purpose of insertion of the patient support.

Tomographic x-ray apparatus for the production of transverse layer images

In an exemplary embodiment, a radiation measuring arrangement contains a radiation source as well as a radiation receiver which determines the radiation intensity behind the radiography subject. For irradiation of the radiography subject from different directions a rotating device for the measuring arrangement is present. A measured value converter calculates a layer image from the signals supplied by the radiation receiver. Between the radiation source and the radiation receiver, two hollow cylinders consisting of radiation-absorbing material having equal diameters and a common axis are arranged between which a gap for the passage of the x-ray beam is left open and into which the radiography subject can be inserted. The two hollow cylinders are adjustably mounted for relative displacement in an axial direction for the purpose of adjustment of the gap width.

Tomographic apparatus for producing transverse layer images

A radiation measuring arrangement is present which comprises a radiation source producing a radiation beam penetrating the radiography subject, and also a radiation receiver which determines the radiation intensity behind the subject. The measuring arrangement is arranged on a support which can be displaced parallel to the plane of the layer on a rotating track. A motor for driving the rotating track is also coupled with a gear ring, rotatably mounted on the rotating track so that this ring is continually rotated, while the rotating track is driven from the motor via a step by step drive unit. A gear wheel (14) is driven by the ring and in turn drives a crank for effecting displacement of the support for the measuring arrangement and also drives a further crank for a weight equalizer member. The lever arms of the cranks may be adjusted by a common motor from a remote station.

In an illustrated embodiment, the cables between the x-ray generator and the angularly movable x-ray source and between the angularly movable radiation detector and the processing circuitry are guided by means of an epicyclically movable planetary member operating between relatively rotatable inner and outer wheel members. The x-ray source and detector may be secured with the inner member which then may rotate through an angle of about 360.degree. during a measurement operation. The cables may initially extend about substantially the entire perimeter of the inner member and then loop about the planetary member and be attached at a convenient point to the stationary outer member. The cables at one end could then extend from the inner member to the x-ray source and detector, and at the opposite end from the stationary outer member to the x-ray generator and other stationary circuit components. In this example, during rotation of the inner member with the x-ray source and detector, the cables are progressively unwound from the periphery of the inner member and transferred by the planetary member to the inner perimeter of the stationary outer member. In this way, the cables may be reliably guided during a 360.degree. rotation of the measurement apparatus, for example. One or more further planetary members may be interposed between the inner and outer members in guiding relation to the cables.

Tomographic X-ray apparatus for producing transversal layer images

The illustrated embodiment shows a patient supporting device for tomographic apparatus comprising two patient supports for cooperation in moving a patient through the apparatus by means of synchronously operated conveyors, the supports having a slight space therebetween to avoid interference with the scanning beam, and the confronting edges of the supports which provide the gap accommodating the scanning beam being shiftable as the housing is tilted in opposite longitudinal directions so that the gap is always in alignment with the plane of the scanning beam. Advantageously one patient support may be disengageable from the housing so as to be removable from the housing aperture and then vertically movable to a convenient level for receiving a patient.

A tomographic X-ray apparatus for the producing of transverse laminographic or tomographic images, constituted of an X-ray measuring arrangement having an X-ray source which generates an X-ray beam, whose cross-sectional expanse or spread perpendicular to the X-rayed layer is equal to the layer thickness, and in parallel to the layer is equal to the layer thickness or is lesser than the latter; and including a radiation receiver which measures the radiation intensity behind the object at successive equidistant points, as well as a drive installation for the measuring arrangement, consisting of a pivot mounting for producing rotary movements of the X-ray measuring arrangement through small equidistant angular increments about a rotational axis which is approximately coincident with the symmetrical longitudinal axis of the exposure object; as well as a slide carriage located on the pivot mounting for producing a linear scanning movement (scanning lift) of the X-ray measuring arrangement perpendicular to the direction of the central X-ray beam over the entire object expanse in an alternating sequence with each incremental rotary movement; and including a holding installation for the exposure object in the X-ray path consisting of a rectangular or box-shaped, in the radiation direction homogeneous and uniformly absorbent, compensating body of tissue-equivalent material encompassing the exposure object, which is fixedly connected with the pivot mounting of the X-ray measuring arrangement, whose extent in the direction of the scanning movement is equal to or larger than the scanning lift, and which possesses an elastic contouring body resting opposite the rotary compensating body, and which is closely located against the surface of the exposure object after the introduction of the latter into the compensating body.

Tomographic X-ray apparatus for producing tomographic images

A liquid jet recorder having a jet ejecting arrangement, and which is connected to a pressure medium conduit for the jet-like ejection of an electrically-conductive recording liquid against a spot on a recording carrier. The liquid ejecting arrangement consists of a plurality of jet nozzles wich are jointly supplied from a common pump, which are so directed that the liquid jets ejected therefrom impinge directly adjacent each other against the recording carrier, and the liquid jets from all nozzles penetrate through a common control electrode. The number of jet nozzles in the inventive liquid jet recorder is coordinated with the desired image results and with the desired recording velocity.

Liquid jet recorder

A patient's support installation for a transverse axial scanning or tomographic X-ray apparatus utilized for producing tomographic X-ray images, in particular of the skull as a laminagraphic object; consisting of a base or pedestal portion having a frame and a horizontally displaceable table plate which is supported on the latter; a holding arrangement encompassing the laminagraphic object on all sides thereof, fastened to the head end of the table plate, which possesses an aperture into which there is introducible the laminagraphic object to a desired depth; as well as means for fixing the skull in the desired position; and an X-ray transmitter or generator for generating an X-ray beam transilluminating the holding arrangement together with the laminagraphic object at the elevation of the laminagraphic plane, and for scanning the laminagraphic object from different directions in the laminagraphic plane; as well as including an X-ray measuring arrangement which is operatively connected with the X-ray generator and located behind the laminagraphic object in the direction of the beam. The foregoing is inventively attained, in a support installation of the above-mentioned type, by providing a transport web slidingly located on the table plate or pallette so as to be in the longitudinal direction thereof, as the patient support for introduction of the laminagraphic object into the holding arrangement, as well as an adjusting arrangement consisting of a drive means for effecting the displacement of the table plate and the holding arrangement which is coupled therewith with respect to the X-ray beam along the longitudinal direction of the table by specifiable amounts, and finally including an indicating means for the determination of these amounts.

Patients' support installation for a tomographic X-ray apparatus

A liquid jet recorder with at least one nozzle which is connected to a pressure medium conduit for ejection of an electrically-conductive recording liquid onto a recording carrier, with at least one control electrode of porous material encompassing the liquid jet disintegrating into drops which leads to a suction conduit for the recording liquid, and a signal source for charging of the liquid connectable between the control electrode and the liquid jet for charging the drops so that they repel each other and disintegrate into a vapor cloud adapted to be aspirated through the control electrode. For effecting cleaning of the electrode and its support, the suction pad which is connected to an actuating arrangement, by means of which the suction pad may be moved from an inactive position in which it is located in a spaced relationship to the jet outlet side of the control electrode, so as to be pressed against the jet outlet side and the electrode support.

A liquid jet recorder with at least one nozzle, which is connected to a pressure medium conduit for ejection of an electrically-conductive recording liquid onto a recording carrier, with at least one control electrode encompassing the liquid jet for disintegrating the liquid jet into drops, and a signal source for charging the liquid drops which is connectable between the control electrode and the liquid jet, so that the drops repel each other and disintegrate into a vapor cloud, and including means for generating a relative motion between the jet nozzle and the recording carrier in two mutually perpendicular directions in the context of forming a linewise image recording, in which a recorder unit consisting of the nozzle and control electrode is a component of a recorder carriage movable along rails. For the displacement of the recorder carriage there is provided a motor-driven conveying belt extending in the longitudinal direction of the rails, and an electrical coupling magnet for connection of the recorder carriage thereto, and wherein the motor only provides a single conveying direction, while for the return of the recorder carriage from an end position attained by means of the motor achieved into an initial position at the recording carriage there is provided spring-loaded return member whose spring is adapted to be tensioned upon the motorized movement of the carriage.
