Individual base plate modules can be furnished with individual signals, however, several base plate modules can also be furnished with the same signal at the same point in time in a control device with in series disposed base plate modules (1). Protective ground conductors (7a), neutral conductors (6a), and signal conductors (8a) are provided for the electrical connections of the solenoid valves (2). Of these conductors, the protective ground conductor (7a) and the neutral conductor (6a) are pulled through and laid through in the longitudinal direction (10) of the series of modules. The signal conductor (8a) connects the solenoid valve (2) to the respective output of a signal source. A plurality of signal conductors (8) are disposed from the first to the last base plate module (1) and directed parallel in an electrically non-conductive support plate (13a), and adjoining to the pulled through and laid through protective ground conductor (7a) and to the neutral conductor (6a). An electrically conducting signal connector plate (13) is disposed above the support plate (13a). An electrical connection (13b) to the plug sockets (11) can be switched from each signal connector plate (13).

Control device for fluidic media in particular for compressed air

A valve assembly suitable for both high and low pressures, includes a base plate (1) a first connection surface (3) and a valve housing (2) which forms a corresponding facing second connection surface (4), a pressure-tight connection which is useful for a battery arrangement and does not consume space elsewhere required. The connection can be created and maintained by a yoke (9) which grips below the valve base plate (1) in a longitudinal direction (8), having arms (9a, 9b) which extend on narrow side surfaces (1a) of the base plate (1) and of coupled valve housing (2), on which arms detent projections (10), which engage into corresponding recesses (2a) of the valve housing (2), are provided. Ease of assembly and disassembly is provided by additional projections (11) which engage in detent troughs (12) on the base-plate side surfaces (1a). The additional projections (11), when the fluid in the valve is not under pressure, allow a disengagement of the detent projections (10) in the recesses (2a) of the valve housing (2) by the spreading of the arms (9a, 9b) so that the detent projections clear the recesses (2a).

Valve assembly for pressure fluids

A solenoid valve battery includes in each case a solenoid valve (9), which exhibits coil contacts and can be constructed advantageously for the variation of the number of device components for the handling of connections and for cable assembly as well as with respect to its device size. A pluggable connector module (13) is furnished for the contacting of the protective grounded conductor (19), of the signal line, and of the neutral conductor (20). At least one protective grounded conductor (19) and/or a parallel running neutral conductor (20) are through-connected and running in the longitudinal extension direction (17) of the strip. The grounded conductor (19) and the neutral conductor (20) can be contacted by plugging the connector modules (13) together in longitudinal direction. A signal line (21) is furnished individually at each connector module (13) and includes a connector clamp (23) at an input (22) and a connection to the corresponding coil contact (20a) at an output (24).

A contactless proximity switch and mounting arrangement for determining the position of a movable member within a cylinder which has two end covers secured on the cylinder by means of a plurality of tie rods, includes a switch housing which secures to one of the tie rods. A contact opening formed in the switch housing has disposed therein, a switch having a pair of contacts and a permanent magnet disposed in a fixed manner. One pole of the permanent magnet is connected to a first contact, while the second pole is disposed in a contacting relation to the cylinder. A second contact is electrically coupled to the cylinder at a position a predetermined distance from where the second pole is disposed. As the movable member, which is constructed of a ferromagnetic material, nears the switch housing, the air gap between the second contact and second pole is bridged and the contacts close indicating the proximity of the movable member to the switch element. The entire proximity switch apparatus can be moved along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder.

A position-sensing potentiometer arrangement for sensing the position of a movable piston and piston rod configuration within a linear actuator includes a first support member extending longitudinally within an open-ended recess formed in the rod and a sliding contact mounted thereon. A tubular support is mounted to a stationary closed end of the linear actuator and extends into the recess to surround a portion of the first support member and a center support member which is also mounted on the closed end of the a actuator. A longitudinally-extending resistance element and a parallel conductor element are mounted on and supported by the center support member. As the first support member moves through the tubular support, the sliding contacts couple the resistance element to the conductor element to provide a resistance value variable as a function of the position of the piston rod. In the event of movement of the piston rod, other than longitudinal movement, the resistance element is isolated by the tubular support against contact by the piston rod.

Position-sensing potentiometer arrangement

A sealing arrangement, which can be inserted into a recess formed in a valve housing, to effectively provide a fluid pressure seal between at least one input chamber and one output chamber, and in which a slide piston is movably-disposed in the recess. The sealing arrangement includes a first gasket and a second gasket, which are disposed in coaxial relationship to one another, and which are concentric to the recess of the valve housing. The two gaskets are connected to one another by means of elastic annular connecting pieces. The connecting pieces of the two gaskets are located between a plurality of apertured retaining elements, which have a portion of the end surfaces of projections in contact with the connecting pieces. A plurality of rivet members pass through the apertured retaining elements and the connection pieces to hold them in the form of a sealing cartridge.

Sealing arrangement for a slide valve

This invention relates to an activation apparatus for valves, specifically electromagnetically-activated multiway valves. The activation apparatus exhibits an activation element having a first stop and a second stop, which are arranged in facing-relation to one another, and to a housing projection formed by a graduated opening leading into the valve, so that a movement of the activation element, in the direction of its longitudinal axis, is limited or prevented. On the circumference of the activation element, there is a sealing element which is in sealed contact against the wall of the housing recess or graduated opening, which holds the activation element. The two stops and the sealing element are permanently connected with the activation element so as to form essentially a single-body construction. A valve moving arrangement, formed on the activation member and extending into the valve housing, is movable to an engaged position whereby, operation of the activation member effects manual operation of the valve under emergency or manual conditions.

Valve activation apparatus

A variable point position determining arrangement includes a housing having a stationary portion secured to a fixed member as, for example working cylinder, and an extendable portion secured to a member movable in relation to the fixed member, as for example piston rod. An elastic element, such as a tension spring, is connected between the stationary portion and an extendable portion of the housing. Such elastic element is stretched or relaxed an amount proportionate to the travel of the movable member. The displacement transducer having an actuator rod and a projecting pin connected to the elastic element at approximately a middle point, follows movement of the elastic element and outputs a distance signal which is a function of the movement of the actuator rod and elastic element. The distance signal can be fed to a control circuit to derive the position value of the movable member therefrom.

Variable point position determining arrangement

A force transmitting fluid actuator for use with a control device wherein an actuator member, movable within an actuator housing, actuates the control device due to the urging force of a plurality of pistons which can be selectively pressurized in unitary increments. The plurality of pistons are disposed within pressure chambers formed in the actuator housing in a symmetrical ring-shaped arrangement concentric to a single pressure chamber disposed on the vertical axis of the housing. A number of passageways interconnect the plurality of pressure chambers to form groupings of pressure chambers which act simultaneously in response to operation of a solenoid valve associated with each passageway. In addition to the symmetrical arrangement of the pressure chambers, the valve and passageway arrangement provide for a symmetric pressurization of the pressure chambers thereby resulting in a balanced force being exerted on the actuator. The amount of force each piston can exert on the actuator is limited by a piston stop designed to contact a portion of the housing while the actual piston force is transmitted by a spring disposed between each piston and the actuator. In this manner, fluctuations in the pressurizing force are not transmitted from the piston to the actuator.

Apparatus to vary the force exerted on an actuator mechanism

A multiway valve device in which a handle-operated ball member is operatively disposed in a spherical cavity to which a plurality of passages is connected. The ball member is arranged with a single seal ring that encloses a recessed area at one end of the ball that is sized to establish fluid pressure communication between a supply passage and one or the other of a pair of delivery passages depending upon the handle being located in an extreme right- or left-hand position. A vent passage opens into the spherical cavity in the area of the ball opposite the recessed area enclosed by the seal ring to exhaust pressure from whichever delivery passage is cut off from the supply passage. The spherical cavity lies partly in the body of the valve device and partly in a cover portion, which when secured to the body, rotatably supports the ball member. An annular recess or flattened region is formed on the surface of the ball member to increase the flow capacity of the vented delivery passage and to also permit removal of the ball, when the interface between the body and cover is offset from the center of the spherical cavity. By offsetting the body/cover interface, the larger area in which to accommodate all the passages within the body portion is provided without increasing the overall size of the valve device.

Multiway valve device

An arrangement wherein fluid pressure passageways opening into inner chambers of a cylindrical housing of a valve device, are formed between abutting faces of two axially aligned cylindrical portions comprising the housing. The opening or passageway between the abutting faces is formed by complementarily engaging saw-like teeth formed around the annular abutting faces of the two housing portions. This arrangement provides a smoother surface over which the sealing gasket on a valve member must ride, thus resulting in less wear and tear on the gasket.
