In a method for determining an output value of a sensor of automation technology, in a case in which the sensor has a non-linear characteristic curve K, which is pointwise specified, help points Hare additionally produced according to a simple calculational specification. The output value is obtained from the input value via an interpolation of at least two points of the characteristic curve.

Method for determining an output value of a sensor of automation technology

A method for operating an automation technology field device connected via a bus system with a superordinated unit and having an identifier identifying the type of the field device, at least one alternative identifier AKF, which identifies a similar type of field device, is stored, in addition to an identifier KF, in the field device F. This alternative identifier AKFis transmitted, on query, to the superordinated unit PLC, when the superordinated unit fails to accept as valid the identifier KFtransmitted in prior queries. In this way, a replacement of a field device is possible simply and quickly.
