The invention provides an illumination device, preferably a reading lamp, which, on the one hand, has a compact design and, on the other hand, ensures a flexible illumination of objects, for which, in order to ensure an adequately high illuminance, high-power light sources can be used and which includes preferably a light source and a light-guiding element that can be pivoted and/or tilted around a pivoting/tilting point, which has at least one light-guiding axis and at least one light in-coupling surface as well as one light out-coupling surface, with the light-guiding element being arranged preferably in an axially displaceable manner in such a way that a free beam area can exist between the light source and the light in-coupling.

A locking device for locking an adjustable steering column in an adjusted position including a lateral clamping element having enlarged heads at opposite ends thereof and a piston and a cylinder between the enlarged heads and a rotatable locking rod for locking or unlocking the steering column arranged axially immovable relative to the steering column and compactly in a space that is little used. The piston and cylinder have overlapping bores parallel to the centerline of the steering column. The locking rod, also parallel to the centerline of the steering column, has an oval-shaped portion protruding through the overlapping bores so that when the long axis of the oval-shaped portion is vertical the clamping element is loose and the steering column is vertically and horizontally adjustable and when the long axis of the oval-shaped portion is horizontal the clamping element is tight and the steering column is vertically and horizontally locked.

An electrical clock, particularly a quartz clock, with a movement case receiving a time-producing and time-indicating device, on the rear side of the movement case setting members being provided for the clock time and for an alarm device, and a mount in which the movement case is insertable in different relative positions relative to the mount. A viewing glass covers the time-indicating device. The movement case with the viewing glass form a self-contained unit. The mount is formed as a housing surrounding on all sides at least the rear side of the movement case and has an inner periphery which corresponds to the periphery of the movement case, the movement case being detachably catchably insertable within the inner periphery of the housing. The housing is formed at its outer periphery for connection to attachment means. The setting means accessible from the outside of said housing are mounted in the housing, said setting means, when the movement case is inserted in the housing, being operatively connected, in all relative positions of the movement case in the housing, with the setting member of the alarm device.

Electric clock, particularly a quartz clock

A clock with a housing with quadratic or square cross-section in the plane of the dial plate and a holder for the detachable reception of the housing. At least one part of the holder is formed in the shape of a yoke having two spring arms between which the housing can be clampingly inserted, and at least the side surfaces of the housing and at least the free ends of the arms are provided with interengaging profiles for the detent connection of the holder and the housing.
