A replaceable filter cartridge assembly for a liquid filter and a liquid filter in which such a filter cartridge is installed. The filter cartridgeis provided with a support elementand a seatfor a sealing membraneis provided on the support elementThe sealing membrane seals the inletof the housing via a sealing edgethat acts as a return flow barrier over the inlet. The sealing membranealso has a radial sealing surfaceto provide a seal between the support elementand the outlet portof the filter. This permits the filter cartridge to be manufactured in a particularly cost-effective manner and assures simple mounting within the housing. Since only the filter cartridge, which can be pushed onto the support elementneeds to be exchanged, very little material has to be disposed of when the filter is replaced, which further increases the cost-effectiveness of the filter in use.

A gas conducting system, particularly a compressed air system for a motor vehicle, which includes a filter containing a desiccant for removing moisture from a gas passed therethrough. The housing structure of the filter is provided with a seal with a weakened area , which specifically causes any overpressure to be reduced through failure of the weakened area if the pressure inside exceeds a permissible maximum. This process can be repeated multiple times until the seal with the weakened area must be replaced due to aging. The weakened area can be used as a substitute for a pressure relief valve or as supplemental protection in case the pressure control valve fails, e.g., due to ice. This can prevent, for instance, bursting of the filter housing which could present a safety risk.
