A detection device for cannabinoid use including a base unit and a display screen disposed on the base unit. A central processing unit and a tetrahydrocannabinol testing device are disposed within the base unit. A testing slot is disposed on a bottom portion of the base unit, with a back end of the testing slot disposed within the tetrahydrocannabinol testing device. Each of a plurality of testing strips is slidably and removably disposed within the testing slot. A printer has a pair of T-shaped attachment extensions. Each of the pair of attachment extensions and a universal serial bus plug disposed on the printer simultaneously removably and slidably engages each of a pair of attachment slots and a universal serial bus port disposed on the base unit, respectively. The tetrahydrocannabinol testing device is configured to analyze and calculate the presence and amount of tetrahydrocannabinol in a person's bloodstream.

Detection device for cannabinoid use

An air freshening device includes a liquid supply operable to supply liquid fragrance material, a wick in contact with the liquid supply, a conductive mesh material operable to retain the liquid material in interstices thereof, and a power supply operable to apply voltage across the mesh material so as to heat the mesh material and the liquid fragrance material contained in interstices of the mesh material to a temperature sufficient to vaporize the liquid. The air freshening device is operable to substantially prevent deposition of the vaporized liquid material.

Air freshening device

An aerosol generator periodically forms aerosolized fragrance material by repeatedly supplying a liquid fragrance material to a capillary passage via only capillary action and heating the capillary passage, such that the liquid fragrance material at least partially volatilizes and is driven out of an outlet of the capillary passage. A wick feeds the liquid fragrance material to an inlet of the capillary passage by capillary action. An apparatus and method for generating such an aerosolized fragrance material, as well as the methods of heating, are disclosed.

Pulsed aerosol generation

A respiratory humidification system having a capillary passage in communication with a ventilator, the ventilator adapted to deliver an air stream, a heater operable to at least partially vaporize water in the capillary passage, a pumping unit adapted to supply water to the capillary passage, wherein the water upon heating is at least partially vaporized to form an aerosol stream. The aerosol stream is combined with the air stream to form a humidified air stream.

An aerosol generating device includes a housing, a heater and an optional mouthpiece. The heater volatilizes liquid within a flow passage and forms an aerosol in the mouthpiece. An aerosol confinement sleeve is disposed to control the size distribution of the aerosol.

Aerosol generating devices and methods for generating aerosols having controlled particle sizes

Liquid nanoscale particle precursor materials for generating nanoscale particles include at least one high volatility carrier and a second component. A nanoscale particle generating device generates nanoscale particles by passing a liquid nanoscale particle precursor material through a flow passage heated to convert the carrier into a vapor and the second component into nanoscale particles. The nanoscale particles preferably consist essentially of the second component and can consist essentially of dry, solid particles. The particle generator can be incorporated in a hand held inhaler, and can be delivered to a targeted portion of the lung using the inhaler. Composite controlled release particles of micron or nanoscale size can be produced by flowing a solution of medicament, control release agent and carrier liquid through a capillary heater.

Methods and apparatus for producing nanoscale particles

An aerosol generator includes a flow passage having an inlet end, an outlet end, and a constriction in the flow passage at the outlet end. A heater is operable to heat liquid in the flow passage to produce a vapor, which is expelled from the outlet end of the flow passage.

Aerosol generators and methods for producing aerosols

An aerosol generator such as a hand-held inhaler and method of delivering aerosol to a user inhaling on an outlet of a mouthpiece when a pressure drop is detected within the mouthpiece. A medicated fluid passing through a capillary passage is heated sufficiently to vaporize the fluid and form the aerosol by condensation of the vaporized fluid as it admixes with air. Air is supplied to the mouthpiece through an air passage which is initially closed during detection of the pressure drop. A metering chamber allows consistent delivery of precise doses of fluid to the capillary passage. The pressure drop is detected before air is supplied to the mouthpiece with the result that the aerosol can be quickly delivered to the user as the user begins to inhale on the mouthpiece. The quick delivery of aerosol provides more efficient use of the user's lung capacity.

Aerosol generator for drug formulation

A disposable aerosol generator for use with an inhaler device which includes a heater adapted to volatilize fluid stored in the disposable aerosol generator and method of using the inhaler. The disposable body includes a sealed chamber and an outlet, the chamber being located between first and second layers of material. The chamber holds a predetermined volume of a fluid which is expelled through the outlet when the fluid in the chamber is volatilized by the heater. The disposable body can include a series of spaced apart aerosol generators, each of which can be advanced to a release position at which the heater can heat one of the fluid containing chambers. Prior to heating the fluid, the outlet can be formed by severing the first and/or second layer with a piercing element and the volatilized fluid can be expelled from the outlet into a passage of a dispensing member.

Disposable aerosol generator system and methods for administering the aerosol

A fluid vaporizing device useful for vaporizing fluid into an aerosol includes a capillary tube made from an electrically conductive material, an upstream electrode connected to the capillary tube, and a downstream electrode connected to the tube and provided with an electrical resistivity sufficient to cause heating of the downstream electrode during operation. According to various manufacturing techniques (a) the downstream electrode can be made of a material having a resistivity that is approximately constant over a desired temperature range, (b) the ratio of the resistance of the downstream electrode to the resistance of the capillary tube can be selected as a function of a preset liquid flow rate through the capillary tube, (c) the tuning range over which a desired quality aerosol can be produced can be selected to compensate for dimensional tolerances during mass production, and (d) the total hot resistance of the downstream electrode and capillary tube can be adjusted to control the location of a meniscus of a liquid vaporized in the capillary tube to produce a desired quality aerosol.

Fluid vaporizing device having controlled temperature profile heater/capillary tube

A portable apparatus for detecting latent fingerprints that discharges a vapor of a cyanoacrylate-containing solution. The apparatus comprises a reservoir for holding a liquid solution comprising cyanoacrylate, a valve for controlling the release of the solution through a capillary flow passage, and a power supply for heating the capillary flow passage and vaporizing the solution. When cyanoacrylate vapor contacts latent fingerprints, the fingerprints are rendered visible.

Method and apparatus for fingerprint detection

A temperature and flow rate controlled capillary aerosol generator includes two heating zones optionally separated by a region in which a pressure drop is induced. Power is metered or applied to the downstream, second zone to achieve a target resistance, and therefore a target temperature, while power is metered or applied to the upstream, first zone to achieve a target mass flow rate exiting the second zone. A target temperature is achieved in the second zone to generate an aerosol from the liquid flowing through the generator at the desired mass flow rate.
