The system includes a paint sensor located on an exterior of the vehicle and configured to detect paint data of the vehicle. The system also includes a vehicle transceiver configured to communicate the paint data and the ambient light data. The system also includes a remote data server configured to receive the paint data and the ambient light data from the vehicle and determine an improved paint formulation or an improved painting process based on the paint data and the ambient light data.
