A system and method of method of carrying out a remedial action in response to a vehicle prognosis, the method including: receiving vehicle feature data from a vehicle; extracting a plurality of feature combination data from the vehicle feature data, wherein each of the feature combination data pertains to a feature combination, wherein each of the feature combinations includes two or more vehicle features; for each extracted feature combination data, then: (i) evaluating the extracted feature combination data using an anomaly detection function based on a multivariate distribution mixture model; and (ii) obtaining an anomaly detection score for each extracted feature combination based on the evaluating step; determining a vehicle subsystem that comprises a portion of vehicle electronics installed on the vehicle and that is likely experiencing a problem or unusual behavior based on the anomaly detection scores; and carrying out a remedial action in response to the determining step.

In response to entering a secure mode a processor disables access to first predetermined processor information through a sideband interface, while maintaining access to second predetermined processor information through the sideband interface. In the processor, a first interface portion of the sideband interface may provide access to the first predetermined processor information and a second interface portion of the sideband interface may provide access to the second predetermined processor information. The first interface portion is enabled in response to a power-on sequence and is selectably enabled under software control after being disabled on entering the secure mode. The second and additional interface portions may provide access to information related to processor temperature, power management, or machine checks.

Method and apparatus for making a processor sideband interface adhere to secure mode restrictions

A processor receives a command via a sideband interface on the processor to read processor state information, e.g., CPUID information. The sideband interface provides the command information to a microcode engine in the processor that executes the command to retrieve the designated processor state information at an appropriate instruction boundary and retrieves the processor state information. That processor information is stored in local buffers in the sideband interface to avoid modifying processor state. After the microcode engine completes retrieval of the information and the sideband interface command is complete, execution returns to the normal flow in the processor. Thus, the processor state information may be obtained non-destructively during processor runtime.
