Compositions and methods of making the same, the compositions including a binder, solvent for the binder, humectant, wax, an emulsifier for the wax, filler, a cross-linking agent for the binder, and various additives. The binder preferably is polyvinyl alcohol. The filler preferably includes glass microspheres, talc and flour. The wax preferably includes paraffin and microcrystalline waxes.

Moldable compositions and method of making the same

A cross-linked gel-like composition of matter. The composition is capable of being used as a modeling compound, as well as being moldable, extrudable, stretchable, and being inflated into bubbles for use as a play activity. The composition is based on a cohesive polyvinyl alcohol non-adhesive and substantially non-drying composition that is safe if accidentally ingested and can be washed from fabrics and carpets with water.

Plastic moldable composition

A play material is formed using a self cross-linking sodium alginate combined with germaben II-E and butylparaben preservatives. A sodium chloride salt provides further preservative action which increases the firmness of the alginate gel material. The play material exhibits improved preservative action and avoidance of eye and skin irritation problems on the part of the user.

A safe non-toxic play material is formed of guar gum, EDTA, DOWICIL 200, methylparaben and propylparaben together with a monosodium phosphate calcium buffer. A glycerin and colorant mixture is combined with the remaining ingredients to complete the play material.

Play material composition

A doll supports a quantity of rooted hair fabricated to provide a posable or cold setting characteristic. The posable hair is formed of an amorphous thermoplastic material preferably having a high molecular weight in a compound including plasticizers, heat stabilizers and lubricants. The material is formed to provide a combination of glass transition temperature characteristic and hardness to produce the cold setting or posable quality.

A torsional joint armature for poseable figure is formed of a one-piece molded plastic material fabricated from a malleable nonelastic deformable material. The armature is articulated by a plurality of molded joints each of which includes one or more torsional deformation elements to provide the appropriate bending characteristics of the armature. Certain joints are provided with additional motion limiting webs to restrict joint motion in undesired directions.

A posable figure includes a one-piece integrally molded armature defining a plurality of integrally molded joint members which provide articulation of the elements of the armature. A one-piece molded skin, preferably formed of a plastic or rubber material, is molded about the armature as a single unitary covering completely enclosing the armature with the exception of the hand and foot portions thereof. The various molded joints of the armature are structured to provide the desired limitations on articulation to duplicate a human figure.

Posable figure with continuous skin

An activity toy which may be used to first form a toy monster figure by shaping a plastic molding material mixed with sodium bicarbonate powder around a toy skeleton, and to then dissolve or break the molding material free from the toy skeleton by immersing the monster figure in a diluted citric acid solution contained in a vat. The toy skeleton is made out of a number of parts removably held together by ball-and-socket joints. Measuring receptacles are provided for determining the amount of plastic molding material needed for forming the toy monster figure. Stamps may be used to form the face or other part of the toy monster figure, or to add texture or detail to the molding material.
