A portable hybrid generator system includes a first unit and a second unit. The first unit includes a first housing, a first output port, and a primary energy source disposed within the first housing. The primary energy source is electrically coupled to the first output port. The second unit is separate from the first unit. The second unit includes a second housing, an input port, a second output port, and an energy storage device disposed within the second housing. The energy storage device is electrically coupled to the input port and the second output port. The energy storage device includes at least one battery. The input port and the first output port facilitate selectively electrically coupling the first unit to the second unit to charge the energy storage device. The primary energy source is specifically calibrated or calibratable to charge the energy storage device based on the at least one battery.

Portable hybrid generator

A portable hybrid generator may comprise a sturdy portable housing configured for easy movement and transport, an inverter for managing renewable and non-renewable energy sources, one or more batteries with or without a battery management system, one or more solar panels and solar panel combiner box, a communications systems, and a generator. In some instances the portable hybrid generator may comprise a communications system equipped to simplify the usage, maintenance, and control of the portable hybrid generator.

An energy storage and power supply device includes an energy storage unit, an output coupled to the energy storage unit, and a processing circuit. The energy storage unit is configured to store electrical energy. The output is configured to facilitate providing power from the energy storage unit to a load. The processing circuit is configured to selectively restrict a power flow provided to the output by the energy storage unit in response to an operating characteristic of the energy storage and power supply device satisfying a threshold condition.

Energy storage and power supply system with reserve mode and override

A power supply device includes an electrical connector and a power interrupt system. The electrical connector is configured to facilitate electrically coupling an electronic device to a power source to at least one of charge and power the electronic device. The power interrupt system selectively couples the power source to the electrical connector. The power interrupt system is configured to (a) provide energy to the electrical connector in response to at least one of (i) a first user request and (ii) a determination that the electronic device is coupled to the electrical connector, and (b) limit the energy provided to the electrical connector at least one of (i) in response to a second user request, (ii) in response to a determination that the electronic device is decoupled from the electrical connector, and (iii) after a threshold elapsed time.

The current protection profile includes a plurality of threshold currents and a plurality of corresponding threshold periods of time that facilitate providing the output electrical current according to a maximum variable current versus time function.

Overcurrent protection for energy storage and power supply system

An energy storage and power supply device includes an energy storage unit, a sensor, an output, a regulator, and a processing circuit. The energy storage unit is configured to store electrical energy. The sensor is positioned to acquire data indicative of an operating characteristic of the energy storage unit. The output is coupled to the energy storage unit and configured to provide power from the energy storage unit to a load. The regulator is positioned along a power flow path between the energy storage unit and the output. The regulator is configured to facilitate selectively restricting a power flow provided to the output. The processing circuit is configured to monitor the operating characteristic of the energy storage unit based on data from the sensor and provide a signal to the regulator to restrict the power flow provided to the output in response to the operating characteristic satisfying a threshold.

A solar panel assembly includes a solar panel and a module releasably coupled to the solar panel. The solar panel includes a front surface, a rear surface, and a plurality of solar cells provided along the front surface. The plurality of solar cells are configured to absorb light energy from a light source to generate electrical power. The module includes a support that is selectively repositionable between a first orientation and a second orientation and a load device attached to the support and electrically coupled to the plurality of solar cells such that the module stores electrical energy produced by the plurality of solar cells.

Portable solar panel system

A portable energy storage and power supply system includes a first housing member, a second housing member coupled to the first housing member, a gasket coupling the first housing member with the second housing member, a battery, and a connector assembly coupled to the battery. The first housing member and the second housing member define an internal space. The battery is disposed within the internal space and configured to store electrical power. The connector assembly includes a shield having an open end and a closed end, a grommet disposed around an outer surface of the shield, and a cap disposed over the closed end of the shield and coupled to the grommet. A reconfigurable battery pack power system with interchangeable accessories has at least one modular, portable, rechargeable battery module having a first side, the first side having a first contour and a mounting port and a power output port, and at least one accessory module configured to receive power from the battery module. The accessory module has a second side with a second contour that mates with the first contour on the battery module, and has a power coupling connector and a fastener. The accessory module is interchangeably mateable with the battery module with the first and second contours nested together, and with the power output port engaged with the power coupling connector and with the fastener engaged with the mounting port, so that the battery module and the accessory module form a single integrated and substantially rigid structure.

A charging device includes a body having a rechargeable energy storage device and a housing, an interface pivotally coupled to the housing, the interface including a first conductor and a second conductor and configured to transmit power between the rechargeable energy storage device and a device connected to the interface, a first rigid post, a first pin, a first compressible element positioned to press the first pin against the first rigid post, a second rigid post, a second pin, and a second compressible element positioned to press the second pin against the second rigid post. The interface is configured to pivot about an axis defined by the first pin and the second pin.

Reconfigurable energy storage and power supply device

Charging devices, modular adapters, and circuits are provided. One charging device including a body including a rechargeable energy storage device and a housing. The housing includes at least one first coupling portion. The charging device further includes a modular adapter including a second coupling portion configured to be mated to the first coupling portion of the housing. When mated to the housing, the modular adapter is configured to be electrically connected to the rechargeable energy storage device. When the modular adapter is mated to the housing, the body and the modular adapter form a single integrated and substantially rigid structure.
