Antenna design and arrangement methodologies for SAR and power density human exposure optimization

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to enhanced power management. A device may identify one or more first radio frequency waves received from a second device during a time period. The device may determine a first transmission power associated with a first radio frequency wave of the one or more first radio frequency waves. The device may determine a time-averaged power density associated with the one or more first radio frequency waves. The device may determine a transmission power limit. The device may send an indication of the transmission power limit to the second device.

Enhanced power management for wireless communications

This disclosure presents methods and devices that implement dynamic transmit power control techniques in terminal devices with multiple radio frequency (RF) transmitters and/or in a multi-terminal device environment to comply with regulatory RF exposure limits and standards while enhancing device performance. For example, the present disclosure provides a device including a processor configured to monitor a transmit power for each of a plurality of transmitters; determine a transmit power reduction to be applied to the plurality of transmitters based on a total simultaneous transmit power of the plurality of transmitters exceeding a threshold; define a respective amount of the transmit power reduction to be applied to each transmitter of the plurality of transmitters based on one or more parameters; and apply the respective amount of the transmit power reduction to each transmitter of the plurality of transmitters.

Methods and devices of transmit power control for multiple transceivers in a single device or in a multiple device scenario

For example, an apparatus may include a Body Proximity Sensor (BPS) configured to detect proximity of a wireless communication device to a human body based on wireless communication signals communicated by the wireless communication device. For example, the BPS may include an input to receive loopback information of a Receive (Rx) loopback signal, the Rx loopback signal including a wireless Rx signal received by a receiver of the wireless communication device based on a loopback of a wireless transmit (Tx) signal transmitted by a transmitter of the wireless communication device; and a processor configured to determine a detection result based on the loopback information, the detection result to indicate a detected proximity of the wireless communication device to the human body.

Apparatus, system and method of body proximity sensing

Methods and device to implement the use of proximity sensor data and time-averaging specific absorption rate methods in determining whether to apply or remove a power back-off to a radio frequency transmitter. The methods and devices may be configured to detect whether a body is proximately located based on obtained proximity sensor data; define an upper threshold for a radio frequency (RF) transmit power and a lower threshold for the RF transmit power; calculate an average power of an RF transmitter over a fixed time period; and based on whether the body is detected, the average power, and a comparison of the average power to the upper threshold or the lower threshold, determine whether to apply or remove a power back-off to the RF transmitter.

Methods and devices for power management techniques with time averaged SAR and proximity sensor considerations

A wireless communication device includes one or more processors, configured to determine one or more first transmission power measurements within a first transmission power measurement sampling period; calculate a first transmission power factor, the first transmission power factor representing a central tendency of the one or more first transmission power measurements from the first power measurement sampling period; determine a second power measurement during a second transmission power measurement sampling period; and calculate a second transmission power factor, wherein the second transmission power factor is a central tendency of at least one of the one or more first power measurements and the second power measurement.
