Aerosol-generating material with combustion retarding properties and uses thereof

Disclosed is an apparatus for heating smokable material to volatilize at least one component of the smokable material. The apparatus includes a magnetic field generator for generating a varying magnetic field; a body of heating material that is heatable by penetration with the varying magnetic field; a non-smokable thermally-conductive element in thermal contact with the body of heating material and arranged relative to the body of heating material so that heating of the heating material by penetration with the varying magnetic field causes progressive heating of the element; and a heating zone for receiving at least a portion of an article comprising smokable material. The heating zone is in thermal contact with the element and is arranged relative to the element so that the progressive heating causes progressive heating of the heating zone.

Apparatus for heating smokable material

A device for generating an inhalable medium, the device comprising: a container retaining a first volatilizable material, the material having a pH of greater than 7; a heater for volatilising the first volatilizable material held in the container; a chamber containing aerosolizable material comprising nicotine; and an outlet; the arrangement being such that in use, the first volatilizable material is volatilized by the heater to form a vapor and/or an aerosol, which passes through the chamber containing aerosolizable material and entrains one or more constituents of the aerosolizable material, thereby forming an inhalable medium which passes through the outlet.

Aerosol generation

A device for generating an inhalable medium, the device comprising: a container retaining a first volatilizable material; a heater for volatilising the first volatilizable material held in the container; a chamber containing aerosolizable material comprising nicotine; g reservoir containing a basic solution; and an outlet; the arrangement being such that in use, the basic solution is released from the reservoir and enters the chamber containing the aerosolizable material, and the first volatilizable material is volatilized by the heater to form a vapor and/or an aerosol, which passes through the chamber containing aerosolizable material and entrains one or more constituents of the aerosolizable material, thereby forming an inhalable medium which passes through the outlet.

Disclosed is an article for use with an apparatus for heating smokable material to volatilize at least one component of the smokable material. The article includes a carrier having plural thermally-conductive portions, on which are locatable respective discrete quantities of smokable material. Between the portions of the carrier, the carrier is shaped to form a thermal barrier for inhibiting heat conduction from one or more of the portions of the carrier towards another of the portions of the carrier in use.

An aerosol provision device including a housing delimiting a first opening at a first end of the housing through which to receive aerosol generating material and a second opening at a second end of the housing, wherein at least one heater is arranged within the housing and configured to heat the aerosol generating material received within the housing thereby to generate an aerosol, and wherein a hollow member is arranged within the housing and extends at least partially between the second and first openings, the hollow member having an end that faces the second opening and is configured to encourage the formation of liquid droplets.

Aerosol provision device

In one aspect, apparatus is provided for generating an inhalable medium. The apparatus has a container for holding a liquid and a heater for volatilizing liquid held in the container. The apparatus further has a chamber for receiving a material. The apparatus has an outlet. In use liquid volatilized by the heater passes, in the form of at least one of a vapor and an aerosol, through material received in the chamber to thereby entrain one or more constituents from the material to produce the inhalable medium which passes out of the outlet.

Inhalator and cartridge thereof

An aerosol generating assembly includes an aerosol generating device () having a coil and an aerosol generating article. The aerosol generating article has a substantially cylindrical rod of aerosol generating material of between aboutmm and about 1mm looms in length, and the article and device are arranged with respect to each other such that the aerosol generating material is heatable by the device. The aerosol generating material can have at leastmg of nicotine and/or at least aboutmg of aerosol generating agent.

A method of generating aerosol from a consumable is disclosed. The consumable comprises a corrugated surface having troughs extending along the consumable in an axial direction, the troughs being provided with aerosol generating material. The method comprising sequentially supplying heat to selected one or more troughs, such that at a given time, heat is directly applied to the selected one or more troughs by a heating element.

Aerosol provision system

A resonant circuit for an aerosol generating system includes an inductive element for inductively heating a susceptor arrangement to heat an aerosol generating material to thereby generate an aerosol. The circuit also includes a switching arrangement that, in use, alternates between a first state and a second state to enable a varying current to be generated from a DC voltage supply and flow through the inductive element to cause inductive heating of the susceptor arrangement. The switching arrangement is configured to alternate between the first state and the second state in response to voltage oscillations within the resonant circuit which operate at a resonant frequency of the resonant circuit, whereby the varying current is maintained at the resonant frequency of the resonant circuit.

Resonant circuit for an aerosol generating system

A component for a non-combustible aerosol provision system. The component comprises a body defining an enclosed volume, the body comprising an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture, and an air flow path defined between the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture through the enclosed volume. The body includes a support element comprising an arrangement of alternating ridges and grooves. Also disclosed is a system comprising such a component.

Component for a non-combustible aerosol provision system

There is described an apparatus for heating an aerosol generating material to generate an inhalable aerosol or gas. The apparatus includes a housing; a receptacle within the housing, the receptacle including one or more cavities, each cavity for containing an aerosol generating material; and a heating arrangement including one or more heater elements for heating aerosol generating material contained in the one or more cavities to generate an inhalable aerosol or gas. The one or more heater elements are located externally of the one or more cavities.

The at least one passageway is configured to, in use, allow aerosol to escape from the aerosol-generating material and provide a condensation region for the escaping aerosol.
