The invention relates to a device for measuring at least one parameter of the intake air mass flow of an internal combustion engine. Fluid particles contained in the line act on a measuring element and influence a characteristic curve behavior of the measuring element used to determine parameters of the flowing medium. In order to reduce the action of fluid on the measuring element, the measuring element is disposed in a line or a tubular body, downstream of a protective screen, which deflects the medium flow and deflects the fluid particles. Downstream of the protective screen, longitudinal ribs, a suction opening, or a turbulence generator reduce the release of uncontrolled eddies.

In an air filter for filtering the intake air for internal combustion engines of motor vehicles, with a filter housing, which has an air inlet, an air outlet, and at least one water outlet disposed in the housing bottom, and with a replaceable filter matte disposed in the filter housing between the air intake and air outlet, in order to separate water particles from the intake air and in order to optimally discharge the separated water from the filter housing, a water separator is disposed upstream of the filter matte in the filter housing and means are provided in the at least one water outlet, which produce a water level in the water outlet of such a height that the vacuum in the filter housing acting on the water outlet is compensated for.

Air filter for filtering induced air for internal combustion engines of motor vehicles

The invention proposes a device for measuring the mass of a flowing medium, in particular the mass of air aspirated by internal combustion engines. The device has a platelike sensor element which is accommodated in a recess of a sensor carrier, and which with a sensor region that has at least one measuring resistor is exposed to the flowing medium in order to measure its mass. The sensor element is accommodated essentially flush in the recess and is retained in the recess by being glued to a bottom face in the recess. The bottom face of the recess of the sensor carrier has a troughlike indentation, which extends at least partially along the circumference of the sensor element outside the sensor region that has the at least one measuring resistor. The device according to the invention is intended to measure the mass of a flowing medium, in particular for measuring the mass of air aspirated by internal combustion engines.
