There are arranged a sensor magnet fixed to a rotary shaft and configured to generate a magnetic field for detecting a rotation angle, and a plurality of sensors arranged so as to be opposed to the sensor magnet and each configured to output a sine signal and a cosine signal in accordance with the magnetic field. First and second sensors are arranged on two radial lines different from each other, respectively, out of three radial lines dividing a circumference about the rotary shaft of the sensor magnet into six equal parts. An angle calculation unit is configured to carry out calculation so that 3n-th (n is a natural number) order harmonic components out of odd-order harmonic components of each of the sine signal and the cosine signal output by the first and second sensors cancel one another, to thereby calculate the rotation angle.

A vehicular charging system includes: a generator which has a field coil and is mounted on a vehicle; a storage battery which stores power; a storage state detection sensor which detects a charge state; and a power generation driving torque control device which calculates an actual value and a target value of power generation driving torque of the generator, and controls the generator based on the calculated target value. The power generation driving torque control device controls the generator based on a first target value of the power generation driving torque when a running state of the vehicle moves into a deceleration mode, and decreases the power generation driving torque to control the generator based on a second target value of the power generation driving torque when a charge state of the storage battery reaches a reference value, the second target value being smaller than the first target value.

An alternator of high quality and high performance includes a rotor, a stator core arranged so as to surround the rotor and having a plurality of axially extending slots arranged at a predetermined circumferential pitch, and a stator having a stator winding fitted into the slots. The stator core includes element iron cores of a hexahedral shape which are deformed to curve, with their adjacent end faces being abutted and bonded to each other, each of the element iron cores being composed of thin steel plates laminated and integrated with one another, with concave and convex portions formed on the thin steel plates being fitting with each other. The concave and convex portions are formed on a borderline between a compressive region of the stator core at an inner diameter side thereof and a tensile region of the stator core at an outer diameter side thereof.

The automotive alternator according to the present invention includes: a case; a rotor that is disposed inside the case and that is fixed to a shaft; a stator that is disposed so as to surround the rotor and in which alternating current arises by means of a rotating magnetic field from the rotor; a rectifier that is disposed at an end portion of the shaft and that rectifies the alternating current that arises in the stator into direct current; and a noise preventing capacitor that is connected between a positive side and a negative side of the rectifier and that absorbs noise that arises during rectification into direct current by the rectifier, wherein a carbon resistor that suppresses current that flows to the noise preventing capacitor is connected to the noise preventing capacitor in series.

An automotive alternator includes: a case; a shaft; a rotor that is fixed to the shaft; a stator that is fixed to an inner wall surface of the case; and a rectifier apparatus that is disposed inside the case and that is electrically connected to a stator coil of the stator so as to rectify alternating current generated in the stator coil into direct current, the rectifier apparatus having: a heatsink; diodes; and a circuit board that connects the diodes and the stator coil electrically and that is fixed to the case so as to be supported together with the heatsink by mount portions at three points, the alternator being characterized in that: vibration suppressing portions that are thicker than the mount portions and that suppress generation of vibrational modes in the circuit board among the mount portions are disposed on the mount portions.

An alternator includes: a rotor fixed to a shaft so as to rotate with the shaft; a stator disposed so as to surround the rotor, an alternating current being generated in the stator by a rotating magnetic field from the rotor; and a voltage control apparatus for adjusting magnitude of an output voltage of the alternating current generated in the stator, wherein: the voltage control apparatus includes: a grounded, electrically-conductive heat sink; and a control main body fixed to the heat sink, the control main body including an integrated circuit chip on which a circuit for controlling the output voltage is formed. As a result, parts are reduced in number, reducing manufacturing costs.

An in-slot conductor part of a stator winding of a rotary electric machine has multiple in-slot conductors disposed in multiple slots. In each of the multiple slots a plurality of the in-slot conductors are disposed in a line in the depth direction of the slot, in the coil end parts each of the multiple coil end conductors has a root part led out through a slot opening at one of the end faces of a stator core in substantially the same direction as the extension direction of the in-slot conductors and a connecting part disposed farther from the end face of the stator core than this root part and bent so as to form a bridge between two root parts. At each of these slot openings, the root parts continuous with the in-slot conductors inserted into the slot are disposed in a line in the depth direction of the slot and form a root part line, on either side of these root part lines are formed cooling passages extending along said one of the end faces in the depth direction of the slot, on the outer side of the root part lines an end cylindrical part formed by overlapping connecting parts is formed, and on this end cylindrical part and covering at least the outer face thereof is disposed an insulating member.
