Systems and methods of filtering with filter assemblies including a frame having a header structure, an end cap structure, and a plurality of side plates coupling the header structure to the end cap structure are provided. The filter pleated media may include an upstream surface and a downstream surface opposite the upstream surface in a direction of flow through the filter assembly, and the filter pleated media may include a pleated configuration. The filter assemblies may further include a support member coupled to a portion of the frame and along at least one of the upstream surface or the downstream surface of the filter pleated media. The support member may at least partially penetrate the pleated configuration and extend into a pleat of the pleated configuration of the filter pleat media.

A cassette filter assembly for removing particles from an air stream, in particular from a gas stream entering a gas turbine, has an upstream end and a downstream end and comprises a header frame to which a filter media is fitted and which has an inlet guide on said mounting face, the inlet guide having a plurality of openings, each opening being defined by a pair of lofted short sides and a pair of lofted long sides.

An integrated device for removal of both liquid-containing droplets and pollutants from a gas stream includes a plurality of passageways and a plurality of exposed surface portions, different ones of the surface portions disposed along different ones of the plurality of passageways. The plurality of passageways include an inlet and an outlet for the flow of a gas stream therethrough, wherein each passageway includes at least one segment configured to perturb the flow of at least a portion of the gas stream between the inlet and the outlet. Such gas perturbation enhances gas stream contact with the exposed surfaces. Portions of the exposed surfaces comprise a sorbent-polymer-composite material adapted for contact conversion of sulfur oxides to sulfuric acid droplets. The exposed surfaces are disposed to enhance the removal of liquid-containing droplets and contact conversion of sulfur oxides to sulfuric acid droplets.

Mist elimination and pollutant removal device and method

A V-panel filter apparatus and method of construction are provided. The method includes flowing curable potting material into a recess portion of an end cap, positioning first end edge surfaces of first and second filter panels into the contained potting material, and curing the potting material with the first and second filter panels positioned to diverge away from the end cap to define a V-shaped configuration. The method may include flowing curable potting material into a recess portion of a first side plate, positioning edge surfaces of the first and second filter panels into the contained potting material, and curing the potting material. Such steps may be repeated in relation to a second side plate and a header member. By utilizing a pot-and-place sealing methodology, improved seal interfaces are realized. Stability and construction advantages may be provided by snap-fit features of the header member and first and second side plates.

V-panel filters

Composite filter media which are highly resistant to thermal degradation and retain filter efficiency and extended lifetime in high temperature environments are disclosed. Methods of making the filter media are also disclosed. A composite filter media for removal of particles from a gas stream includes a layer of a porous polymeric membrane, the layer having an upstream side and a downstream side relative to the direction of the gas stream; and at least one layer of an electrostatic microfiber web containing an antioxidant in an amount ranging from about 0.1% to about 10% by weight; the at least one layer of microfiber web disposed on the upstream side of the porous polymeric membrane layer.

Heat stabilized composite filter media and method of making the filter media

The invention provides a multiple layer filter media for removal of particles from a fluid stream. The multiple layer filter media may include a depth filtration layer, a membrane filtration layer and a support layer. Additional layers may be present. The membrane filtration layer may comprise expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). The various layers of the multiple layer filter media may be bonded together through a plurality of point bonds. The point bonding process may include simultaneously bonding multiple layers of the multiple layer filter media together in a single operation. The point bonds may be created using ultrasonic bonding.

Multiple layer filter media

The invention provides a renewable composite filter media for removal of particles from a fluid stream. The filter media includes a membrane filtration layer comprising a porous polymeric membrane having an upstream side and a downstream side relative to the direction of fluid flow, a first depth filtration media layer having an upstream side and a downstream side relative to the direction of fluid flow, the first depth filtration media layer being disposed on upstream side of the membrane filtration layer; and at least one additional depth filtration media layer removably attached to the upstream side of the first depth filtration media layer. In this aspect, the first depth filtration media layer may be removably attached to the membrane filtration layer.

Composite filter media

This invention is directed to a continuously cleanable, high performance filtration apparatus and a method for using the apparatus. The apparatus is a radial inflow centrifugal filtration device, which includes a filter element located within a chamber and rotatably coupled to a filtered fluid outlet in a bulkhead that abuts the chamber. The filter element is generally tubular, its side-walls encircling and, thus, defining an interior plenum. The filter element side-walls incorporate a filter media, preferably a laminated microporous membrane filter media. The filter element is rotatably coupled at the filtered fluid outlet by a seal which can maintain a seal as filter element rotates. Additionally, the device can include a boundary layer momentum transfer device made up of a plurality of stacked annular disks having central openings, each disk separated from adjacent disks by a desired gap. The central openings define a cavity in which the filter element is mounted.
