The multi-purpose video monitoring camera includes a microprocessor, a CMOS video camera, a thermographic video camera, a display unit and a mic array. The microprocessor includes a baby presence detection module, a warning module, a motion detection module, a breathing detection module, a hot air exhalation detection module, a chest movement detection module, a breathing sound detection module, a suffocation detection module, a temperature measurement module, a urination and defecation detection module, an air conditioning module and a baby growth rate module. By using inputs from both the CMOS video camera and the thermographic video camera, the accuracy of the baby presence detection module is improved.

Multi-purpose video monitoring camera

A scalable dual mode monitoring system according to the present invention is configured to communicate using RF communication channels wherever possible for better range and less battery power consumption. When the system uses 2.4 GHz FHSS RF technology, the system coverage could reach a range of 250 meters line of sight; standby current goes down significantly as compared to that of solely using Wi-Fi communication channel; time to get video streaming is reduced when compared to systems that solely use Wi-Fi communication channel because RF communication channels allow for better and faster synchronization; system set-up via RF link is easy without pairing or any setup and requires simply plug and play when using RJ45 cable connecting to router from the hub.

Scalable dual mode monitoring system

A controller for a persistent display device has an overall table of waveform data corresponding to different transitions of pixels from all pixel states to all others for differing operating parameters. A hardware LUT module receives input values containing new and current pixel state data and indexes to identify update requests, stores in LUT table memory space mapping values that are segments of waveform data generated in run time according to the operating parameters of each update request, and places segments of waveform data corresponding to the update requests into LUT output memory space. A SIMD module transposes waveform data of the update requests from the LUT output memory space, and places the transposed waveform data in respective frame scan buffers. An interface receives the transposed waveform data for the display device to update an image displayed on the panel.
