A method includes assembling a liner system by disposing a fiber optic cable circumferentially around an inner tube liner and locating an outer tube liner around the inner tube liner. The fiber optic cable is located between the inner tube liner and the outer tube liner. The method also includes spooling out the liner system, in a lay-flat state, into a conduit of a tubular structure positioned in the well, terminating spooling out the liner system when a select length of the liner system has been deployed in the conduit of the tubular structure, and securing the select length of the liner system deployed into the tubular structure at a surface above the well. The method further includes injecting a fluid into the inner tube liner of the liner system to radially expand the liner system to conform an outer circumferential surface of the outer tube liner to an inner circumferential surface of the tubular structure, protecting the inner circumferential surface of the tubular structure using the liner system, and measuring a property of the well using the fiber optic cable.

Well conduit lining method and system

A system and method use a sensor embedded in flexible tape to monitor for corrosion of a structure, such as a conveyance line in a well. The system comprises the structure, a spool, a flexible tape, a sensor, a spool driver, and a processor. The structure includes a window adjacent to an element under test. The flexible tape is retained by the spool. The sensor is embedded in the tape, with the sensor being configured to detect a corrosion of the element and to generate corresponding sensor data. The spool driver is coupled to the spool and advances the tape from the spool to position the sensor adjacent to the window, thereby to position the sensor adjacent to the element to detect the corrosion. The processor is configured by code stored therein to receive the sensor data and to generate and output an alert of the detected corrosion.

System and method using sensors embedded on tape for corrosion monitoring

A method includes wrapping a packer bag around a deployment tool, providing at least one canister in fluid communication with the packer bag, sending the packer bag around the downhole tool to a downhole location in a well, and injecting a polymer filler material from the at least one canister into the packer bag until the packer bag expands to seal the downhole location.

Methods for deployment of expandable packers through slim production tubing

A method of lining a tube using a spoolable liner includes connecting a connector to a distal end of the spoolable liner. The connector and spoolable liner are inserted into the tube and are advanced to a tube engagement point. A distal connection is formed between the spoolable liner and the tube by attaching the connector to an engagement mechanism at the tube engagement point. A proximal end of the spoolable liner is established and a proximal connection is formed between the proximal end and the tube. The spoolable liner is plugged with a deployable plug in a vicinity of the distal end and with a termination in a vicinity of the proximal end. An interior area is filled with a fluid such that the fluid expands the spoolable liner against an interior wall of the tube.

Method and apparatus for installing infield flexible liner of downhole tubing

An example system includes a moveable platform having an uphole end and a downhole end. The platform includes a drive arrangement for moving the platform in one or more directions along an interior wall of a casing string in a wellbore. The platform includes scraping arrangement for removing debris from the interior wall of the casing string. The platform includes a debris catching arrangement downhole of the scraping arrangement for collecting some or all of the debris removed. The platform may include a coating arrangement to deliver and apply a substance to at least a part of the wall of the casing string. The coating arrangement may include a reservoir holding one or more liquid substances and a valve to regulate flow of the one or more liquid substances. The liquid substance may include epoxy resin.
