According to the present disclosure, arrangements, systems, components, features and methods for filtration are described. The components specifically described include a filter cartridge with preferred features for interaction with a filter housing, and a filter housing with preferred features for convenient installation. Methods of assembly and use are also characterized.

Filter cartridge

Filter assemblies and components therefor, are described. In an example arrangement, the filter assembly is configured to be serviced from either the top or the bottom. A filter cartridge for use in separating a hydrophobic liquid aerosol phase from a gas stream, as a crankcase ventilation filter for example, is described. The cartridge includes a media pack comprising filtration media surrounding an open interior and a first end piece. Various structure included on the first end piece is described. An example is a D-shaped projection. Also described is an assembly including the filter cartridge, specific features of a housing component of the assembly. Methods of assembly and use are also described.

Included are serviceable crankcase ventilation filter cartridges which include a media pack axial drain arrangement, for preferred, efficient, operation. A crankcase ventilation filter arrangements including a housing and such a serviceable cartridge is shown. Also shown and described are methods of assembly, operation and use.

Aerosol separator; components; and, methods

A filter arrangement includes a filter media pack having a side wall. A ring is oriented around and against the side wall of the filter media pack. The ring includes a band having an interior surface oriented against the side wall of the filter media pack and an opposite exterior surface. A first seal member is secured to the exterior surface of the band. The first seal member is oriented radially from the filter media pack. The filter media pack includes Z-media having an inlet flow face and an opposite outlet flow face. An air cleaner including a housing with a filter element operably installed therein is provided. Methods of installing, filtering, and servicing are described.
