In one instance, a fiber distribution hub for use in a passive optical network includes a cabinet having an interior space and a vertical cable management tower extending vertically from a bottom portion of the cabinet or cabinet frame and having a plurality of cable management spools. The vertical cable management tower is coupled to the cabinet or cabinet frame to define a splitter area to one side and a storage area to another side. The hub further includes a plurality of storage spools coupled to the cabinet or cabinet frame in the storage area and a plurality of distribution cables introduced into the interior space of the cabinet and having distribution fibers formed into a plurality of fiber groups at distal ends of the distribution fibers. The plurality of distribution cables is positioned to drape over one or more of the plurality of storage spools for storage until use.

Fiber optic splitter modules and systems

In one instance, a fiber distribution hub includes a fiber distribution cabinet and a fiber optic splitter module coupled to and disposed within the fiber distribution cabinet. The fiber optic splitter module has horizontal (perpendicular to gravity) top and bottom rails and vertically (parallel to gravity) mounted splitter assemblies. In some instances, the distribution ports are downwardly oriented to facilitate cable management. Cable management systems are also included. Other aspects are presented.

A theft deterrent system for an electronics cabinet may include a first hasp, which may include a plurality of studs extending from a surface thereof. At least one stud of the plurality of studs may be dimensioned to engage with a padlock ring of the electronics cabinet. The first hasp may have a tab having a shackle hole therein. The theft deterrent system may include a second hasp, which may include a plurality of holes dimensioned to receive a respective one of the plurality of studs. The second hasp may also have a tab having a shackle hole therein. The system may further include a shield retainer dimensioned to surround at least portions of the first hasp and the second hasp. To secure the electronics cabinet, a shackle of a hidden shackle lock may be fed through the shackle holes and the hidden shackle lock may then be locked.

Theft deterrent system for electronics cabinet door

A theft deterrent system for an electronics cabinet includes a handle cover having through-holes dimensioned to align with a through-hole in a handle of the electronics cabinet. The through-holes of the handle cover may be dimensioned to receive a shackle of a lock. The theft deterrent system further includes a shackle cover dimensioned to receive the shackle of the lock. The shackle cover may include an upper tab and a lower tab, each comprising a respective shackle slot therein dimensioned to receive the shackle of the lock.

With respect to fiber optic structured cabling, dense optical termination and patching platforms, systems, and methods herein involve using an optical-connector adapter cassette that has double rows of adapters on a front portion and at least one goose-neck portion that transitions to a single row of adapters on a rear portion. The double rows of adapters may have virtually no geometry between them. Two cassettes may be cantilevered at the front of a fiber-optic enclosure. The systems includes other aspects.

Dense optical termination and patching platforms, systems, and methods

A fiber optic shelf includes: a floor; side walls attached to opposite side edges of the floor, wherein the shelf has a longitudinal axis defined between the side walls; and a rear wall attached to a rear edge of the floor. The rear wall has a stepped profile and comprises a plurality of mounting panels facing laterally at an oblique angle to the longitudinal axis of the shelf.

A sliding tray unit for communication channel patching includes at least first and second horizontally adjacent sliding trays, with each tray including a platform with a bulkhead, with an area between the bulkhead and a front of the sliding tray being considered a trough. Lips are formed at forward edges of adjacent troughs. Each lip includes an indentation or hole. A bridging connector includes a gap formed between front and back walls. The lips fit into the gap. First and second projections formed on the back wall project into the gap and removably snap into the indentions/holes of the adjacent lips. The first and second sliding trays slide as a single unit with the bridging connector installed on both lips. The bridging connector may pivot about the engagement between a projection and its mating indentation/hole when the other projection is removed from its mating indentation/hole, so that the adjacent sliding trays may slide independently.

A communications interconnection system includes: a communications rack having a pair of upright members; a patch panel mounted to the upright members, the patch panel having mounting locations for telecommunications connectors; and a cable management system mounted to the rack. The cable management system comprises a cable mounting member having a cable securing portion and a pair of arms attached to the cable securing portion, the arms being substantially parallel to each other and slidably mounted relative to the panel to enable adjustment of the distance between the cable securing portion and the communications rack. This configuration can enable the cable management system to be used with communications racks of different sizes and designs.

An optical fiber management shelf includes a housing having a first opening and a fiber optic termination module mounted to the fiber management shelf. A first door is pivotably mounted on the housing and pivotable about an axis from a first position substantially covering the first opening to a second position allowing access to the first opening. A first projection is on the first door, and a first receiver is on the housing configured to receive and selectively retain the first projection to releasably secure the first door to the housing. The first receiver includes a latch configured to retain the first projection when the first projection is initially inserted or pushed into the first receiver. The first receiver is also configured to release the first projection when the first projection is subsequently pressed or pushed toward the first receiver after the initial insertion into the first receiver.

A fiber management shelf includes a housing having an opening, a door shiftable between open and closed positions, and a hinge connecting the door to the housing. The hinge includes a hinge pin and a receiver configured to receive and rotatably support the hinge pin. The receiver includes a channel having first and second sides defining a channel opening having a first channel width and at least one boss on the first or second channel side so that the channel has a second width at the boss less than the first channel width. The hinge pin has a first portion with a first width in a first direction and a second width in a second direction less than the first hinge pin width, and the first hinge pin width is greater than the second channel width and the second hinge pin width is less than the second channel width.

A fiber optic component includes a body having at least one receptacle configured to receive a fiber optic connector, a shutter base mounted to the body at a mounting location adjacent to the at least one receptacle, and a first shutter connected to the shutter base by a first hinge. The first shutter, first hinge and shutter base are unitarily formed, and the first shutter is shiftable from a first position biased against the body and covering the at least one receptacle to a second position biased to an angularly spaced position relative to the first position.

An optical fiber retainer includes a first split band of material having a bottom, a top, a front and a back surrounding an interior passage, the front including a first portion depending from the top and having a bottom edge and a second portion extending from the bottom and including a top edge, the top edge and bottom edges comprising a first split of the first split band. The bottom includes an inner surface comprising a wall of the interior passage and an outer surface facing away from the interior passage, and the top includes an inner surface comprising a wall of the interior passage and an outer surface facing away from the interior passage. The bottom outer surface includes a first connector element, and the top outer surface includes a second connector element configured to releasably mate with another connector element of another split band.

A splice holder includes a base member and a plurality of high wall pairs on top of the base member each having first and second wall members spaced by a first distance, and adjacent ones of the high wall pairs are spaced by a distance less than the first distance. A first plurality of low wall pairs project from the base member on one side of the high wall pairs, and a second plurality of low wall pairs project from the base member on the other side. The first and second plurality of low wall pairs are shorter than the high wall pairs. The splice holder is configured to support a first level of splices running through the low wall pairs and high wall pairs in between and a second level of splices running through the high wall pair and supported on top of two low wall pairs.
