The invention relates to a solid catalyst system comprising a chromium compound, a metal compound, an aluminium compound and a silicon oxide support, wherein the silicon oxide support has an average particle diameter in the range between &#x2265;20 and &#x2264;50 &#x3bc;m, a pore volume in the range between &#x2265;1.7 ml/g and &#x2264;3 ml/g, and a surface area in the range between &#x2265;400 m/g and &#x2264;800 m/g, and wherein the aluminium alkoxide compound has the formulaR&#x2014;Al&#x2014;ORwherein Ris selected from (C-C) alkyl groups and ORis selected from (C-C) alkoxyl groups.

Chromium oxide catalyst for ethylene polymerization

The invention relates to a process for the production of polyethylene by gas phase polymerisation of ethylene in the presence of a supported chromium oxide based catalyst which is modified with an amino alcohol wherein the molar ratio of amino alcohol:chromium ranges between 0.5:1 and 1.5:1 wherein the support is silica having a surface area (SA) between 250 m2/g and 400 m2/g and a pore volume (PV) between 1.1 cm3/g and less than 2.0 cm3/g.

Gas phase polymerisation of ethylene

The invention relates to a gas phase polymerisation process for the production of ethylene polymers in the presence of a catalyst composition based on a chromium compound, a titanium compound and a silica support material. The silica support material has a surface area (SA) between 685 m/g and 800 m/g, a pore volume (PV) between 1.65 and 1.85 cm/g and an average particle size in the range between 25 and 35 micrometres. The catalyst composition is injected by a dry catalyst feeder into the polymerization reactor.

The present invention is directed to a process for the production of high density polyethylene by polymerisation of ethylene in the presence of a supported chromium oxide based catalyst which is modified with an organic compound comprising oxygen and a nitrogen atom which is selected from the group consisting of saturated heterocyclic organic compounds with a five or six membered ring, amino esters and amino alcohols. Such organic compounds allow manufacturing of HDPE with increases molecular weight distribution and increased molecular weight.
