A cartridge may include a fluid reservoir, a print head to eject fluid from the reservoir through nozzles and bubblers. The print head may include a fluid feed slot to supply fluid from the reservoir to the nozzles. The bubblers are opposite the fluid feed slot.

A computer product for detection of end-of-life events in integrated inkjet print heads includes computer code to perform a calibration procedure when an integrated print head is first connected to a printer; computer code to perform an end-of-life test on the integrated print head after a triggering event; and computer code to compare end of life test results with a baseline result from the calibration procedure.

A method for forwarding a firing signal within a nozzle group of a fluid ejection device includes receiving warm data and fire data. A firing signal having a firing pulse preceded by a warming pulse is received. The firing signal is conditionally modified according to of the fire data. The conditionally modified firing signal is forwarded to a particular nozzle circuit of the nozzle group.

A system and method for printing on media includes a printhead assembly, a memory, and a controller. The printhead assembly is configured to make physical print sweeps relative to print regions of the media and to print within the print regions during the physical print sweeps. The memory communicates with the printhead assembly and is configured to receive data associated with a logical print sweep. The data associated with the logical print sweep controls printing within a first print region of the media during a corresponding first physical print sweep. The controller communicates with the printhead assembly and memory. The controller initiates the first physical print sweep of the printhead assembly before all of the data associated with the logical print sweep is received by the memory.

Systems, methods, and devices are provided for printhead calibration. A method includes printing a swath. A temperature rise of a printhead is measured during the swath and an operating energy of the printhead is calibrated based on the measured temperature rise while performing a non-test print job.

Printhead calibration

The turn-on energy of a printhead is determined. The printhead is fired at a first firing frequency over an initial range of print energies to detect an approximate range of print energies in which the turn-on energy is located. The printhead is fired at a second firing frequency over the approximate range of print energies in which the turn-on energy is located in order to determine a value for the turn-on energy of the printhead. The second firing frequency is higher than the first firing frequency.
