The present invention relates to liquid-crystalline media comprising one or more compounds of formula DFS in which the groups and parameters occurring have the meanings indicated in claim, to high-frequency components comprising same, especially microwave components for high-frequency devices, such as devices for shifting the phase of microwaves, in particular for microwave phased-array antennas. The present invention further relates to novel mesogenic compounds.

The invention relates to compounds of the formula I, in whichR, A, n, L, L, Land X have the meanings given in Claim, to a process for their preparation, and to liquid-crystalline media comprising at least one compound of the formula I and electro-optical displays containing a liquid-crystalline medium of this type.

The invention relates to a liquid-crystalline medium which comprises at least one compound of the formula I, wherein the radicals R, L, L, n and A are as defined herein, and to the use thereof for an active-matrix display, in particular based on the VA, PSA, PS-VA, PA-VA, PALC, FFS, PS-FFS, IPS or PS-IPS effect.
