Described is a method for detecting and displaying the movement of a temporomandibular joint which connects a lower jaw and an upper jaw by magnetic resonance imaging. A marker is secured to the lower jaw, a marker movement curve is generated using magnetic resonance imaging measurement data sets during a first measurement interval, during which the lower jaw is moved relative to the upper jaw, and a point which corresponds to a first position of the lower jaw relative to the upper jaw is ascertained on the movement curve. An image data set is generated during a second measurement interval, during which the temporomandibular joint is not moved, and a first model, which represents at least one part of the upper jaw and/or a temporal bone part that comprises the temporomandibular joint socket, and a second model, which represents at least one part of the lower jaw, are ascertained therefrom. A movement curve of the second model relative to the first model is calculated and displayed using the marker movement curve.

A plurality of MRT segment images, which depict the defined segmented volume regions are acquired by an MRT apparatus within a measurement volume of the MRT apparatus. The segmented volume regions overlap no more than partially. In this case a target surface is defined or has already been defined. Then a two dimensional composite image, which corresponds to a two dimensional aggregate image through the target surface within the object volume of the dental object, is generated computer-aided from the individual MRT segment images.

Image dataset acquisition devices () obtain the first and second image datasets. A similarity function indicative of a likelihood that the first and second image datasets are in correspondence with one another is computed by a processor () and then a ranking of each of a plurality of local maxima of the similarity function is determined. Catheter navigation system

A method for the three-dimensional reconstruction of an object, or its surroundings, in a moving body volume of a patient includes obtaining a series of X-ray projection photographs produced from different directions, with a relevant ECG phase or respiration being recorded simultaneously. Projection photographs of the moving body volume are transformed such that the images of feature points that are located on the projection photographs respectively come to rest at a place on which randomly set spatial reference positions for the feature points are projected. With the projection photographs aligned onto the reference positions, three-dimensional reconstruction of the object can subsequently take place.

The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for the intravascular or intracardial navigation of a catheter (). Using an X-ray fluoroscopy device (), firstly an image database of 2D images is generated, where at the same time as each 2D image (I) is taken the associated heartbeat phase is recorded using an ECG (). During the catheter intervention, the position of the catheter () is measured by means of a position measurement unit (), and at the same time the ECG and preferably also a signal that is dependent on the breathing movement are recorded. The current spatial position of the catheter () that is measured is then assigned the 2D image of the image database which corresponds in terms of the heartbeat phase and also possibly in terms of the breathing phase, on which image the position of the catheter can be represented.

A method is provided for analysis of a multi-dimensional structure which includes a tubular structure from two-dimensional datasets for respective pre-determined projection directions. A pair of corresponding initial projected centre points of the tubular structure is identified in two respective initial and further two-dimensional datasets. Projected edges of the tubular structure in said initial two-dimensional datasets and in said further two-dimensional dataset near the respective projected centre points are identified. A local size of the tubular structure is derived at the three-dimensional spatial position of the centre point of the tubular structure from said projected edges and the predetermined projection directions.
