An emergency call system transmits an emergency call with emergency information from a vehicle using a communication system. The emergency call system includes an emergency call device that connects with an emergency assistance center during an emergency. The emergency call device may be automatically or manually triggered to transmit data and information related to an emergency to the assistance center. Data and information may be transmitted over a data connection and/or a voice connection over a hardwired or wireless network.

This invention relates to a method and an emergency call device for transmitting an emergency call including emergency information from a vehicle using a mobile communication system. Further this invention is related to an emergency call system comprising the emergency call device and an emergency call assistance center. To provide a method for transmitting an emergency call which increases the reliability of data transmission this invention provides a method for transmitting an emergency call including emergency information from a vehicle using an mobile communication system. After an emergency call has been triggered at the vehicle, the method establishes a data connection to an emergency call assistance center via the mobile communication system, transmits emergency information to the emergency call assistance center using the data connection, establishes a first voice connection to the emergency call assistance center via the mobile communication system, and transmits a DTMF message including emergency information using the established first voice connection.

Method, device and system for transmitting an emergency call

A networked system for controlling the mobile access to a data service, which may provide encrypted data, is presented. The system may include a mobile device and a mobile access control server, which controls the mobile device's access to the data service by controlling the access information required to access the data service. The system may also include a content server that provides the data service, a certification authority, and a network for enabling communication among the components of the system. To access encrypted data services, the mobile device communicates an access request to the mobile access control server, which determines whether access should be granted, and provides access information to the mobile device, enabling the mobile device to establish encrypted communication with the content server and/or to decrypt the encrypted data provided by the data service via the content server.

A system for controlling the access of services from a service provider to a client terminal provides capabilities for the user to change and modify the desired services and have the modified access information communicated to the client terminal or navigation device. The system provides a wireless connection between the client terminal and the server by way of a communications network. The server at the service provider may allow a user to modify the configuration data relating to the access rights of the client terminal. The modified configuration data may be stored on the server and wirelessly transmitted to the client terminal and stored on the client terminal. The modified configuration data may provide access to the services provided by a second service provider allowing the navigation device to access the services that are available on the second service provider as well as those available on the first service provider.

A vehicle processing system exchanges data through a vehicle entertainment and information system, a service gateway, and a content provider. The vehicle processing system requests data from the content provider through a service gateway. The service gateway generates and transmits a downstream service packet to the vehicle entertainment and information system. The content provider may include a packet generation subsystem that forms the downstream data packets. The subsystem may encode the data and embed a data identifier that may identify the data format of the downstream data packets.
