Techniques (e.g., method, apparatuses, etc.) for permitting communications, e.g., optical communications are described. In one example, a first communication apparatus may send a bit allocation table, BAT, message, to a second communication apparatus. The BAT update information has a BAT update information signalling update information for updating a BAT which is signalled to be updated. The BAT update information groups information into different groups of subcarriers, wherein the BAT update information has, for each group of subcarriers, information indicating the number of carriers in the group.

Communication techniques

Techniques (e.g., method, apparatuses, etc.) for permitting communications, e.g., optical communications are described. In one example, a first communication apparatus for the communication with a second communication device may obtain a channel state information from the reception of one or more reference signals and/or beacon signals from one or more frontends of the second apparatus. The first communication apparatus may transform the channel state information from a frequency domain to a time domain, to obtain a time domain channel state information. The first communication apparatus may encode the time domain channel state information. The first communication apparatus may transmit the time domain channel state information to one or more frontends. The first communication apparatus may transmit channel information for association and updated channel information for network coordination in a contention access period and collision-free period, CFP, respectively.

Examples relating to techniques for wireless communications, e.g., visible light communication, VLC, are disclosed. In particular, there is disclosed a communication device for communicating with a plurality of other devices, using a wireless link. The device provides individual reference signals using a number of subcarriers or time slots in accordance to the optical clock reference and the number of transmitting devices in the set or streams to be transmitted in parallel. The device defines the position of subcarriers or of signals at the time slots in accordance to an identification number associated to an individual device within the whole set of transmitting devices or in dependence on an identification number identifying a specific stream or transmitter. The device transmits the reference signal which enables the plurality of receiving devices to identify the signal coming from the individual communication device in the whole set of devices.

Wireless network and devices

It are provided an optical communication system and an optical communication method. The system comprising at least two optical channels for communicating optical data signals; at least one optical filter arrangement for compensating distortions of the optical data signals communicated via the optical channels and/or crosstalk between the optical channels. The optical filter arrangement comprises at least one optical filter assigned to one of the optical channels and at least one optical filter assigned to the other one of the optical channels, wherein each one of the optical filters is configurable in such a way that different wavelength components of an incoming optical signal will be modified individually.

Optical communication system and method

It is provided a signal processing system, comprising at least a first, a second and a third digital-to-analog converter (DAC); a processing unit configured for splitting a sampled signal into a first and a second signal corresponding to different frequency portions of the sampled signal, transmitting the first signal to the first DAC, splitting the second signal into a first and a second subsignal and transmitting the first subsignal to the second DAC and the second subsignal to the third DAC, the first subsignal corresponding to the real part of the second signal and the second subsignal corresponding to the imaginary part of the second signal; an IQ mixer configured for mixing an analog output signal of the second DAC and an analog output signal of the third DAC and a combiner for combining an analog output signal of the first DAC and an output signal of the IQ mixer.

Signal processing systems and signal processing methods

A system for providing a wireless communication with a mobile device includes a plurality of frontends coupled to a central point, each of the plurality of frontends configured to provide for a wireless communication with the mobile device, and a network controller coupled to the central point. The network controller includes a data flow control device configured to control the data flow between each of the frontends and the central point, the data flow control device being configured to operate responsive to a control signal from the network controller, the control signal indicating which of the plurality of frontends serves the mobile device.

System and method for providing a wireless communication with a mobile device

It is described a method for transmitting channel quality information between a second network element and a first network element. The method comprises includes (a) dividing a range of possible radio channel qualities between the two network elements into a fixed number of quality classes, (b) measuring the quality of a radio channel between the two network elements, (c) selecting one quality class out of the fixed number of quality classes based on the measured quality of the radio channel, (d) transmitting from the second network element to the first network element a first channel quality information being indicative for the selected quality class, and (e) transmitting from the second network element to the first network element a second channel quality information being indicative for the measured quality within the limits of the selected quality class. It is further described the first and the second network element, which in conjugation with each other are adapted to carry out the described method.

Transmitting a first and a second channel quality information between two network elements

A method for transmitting a signal is described, wherein the method has transforming a signal into a frequency domain to obtain a spectrum, forming a filtered spectrum according to a filter spectrum and occupying a set of subcarriers of a frequency domain representation of an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) signal with the filtered spectrum. A temporary signal is obtained by transforming the frequency domain representation of the OFDM signal into a time domain. The temporary signal is subjected to a phase modulation.

Method and apparatus for transmitting a signal

Data in a mobile communications system is transmitted on at least one channel between at least one base station with multiple antennas and at least one user equipment. A base station applies precoding to the data based on a set of predefined codebooks. A first tracking mode with a first codebook from the set of predefined codebooks is used for the precoding, and at least a second tracking mode with at least a second codebook from the set of predefined codebooks is used for the precoding. The base station switches between the first tracking mode and the second tracking mode depending on at least one condition of the channel.

Using LTE-A transmitters and carrier aggregation in borehole communication

A user equipment obtains channel state information for base stations serving the user equipment according to a coordinated multi-point transmission, arranges the channel state information in a predetermined order, and transmits the channel state information in the predetermined order. At least one base station of the base stations receives the channel state information, arranges the channel state information in the predetermined order into a datagram, and transmits the datagram to at least one other base station of the base stations.

Channel-adaptive transmission in a distributed coordinated multi-point transmission system

A method for operating a radio communication system involves the use of OFDM and involves a first sending station modulating a first OFDM symbol onto a first carrier frequency and sending the first OFDM symbol to a first receiving station via a first transmission channel using an air interface. The first sending station changes the first carrier frequency during a time used for sending the first OFDM symbol, the change in the first carrier frequency being made independently of a change in transmission characteristics of the first transmission channel over time. A fast frequency hopping system is disclosed.

A method detects a first baseband signal sent by a first sending station via an air interface to a first radio station of a radio communications system. A first receive signal, which contains the first baseband signal superposed with at least a second baseband signal sent by a second sending station to a second radio station, is received by the first radio station. The first radio station uses at least a second receive signal received by the second radio station for detection of the first baseband signal. The second receive signal contains at least the second baseband signal, and is used to at least partially cancel the interference in the first receive signal caused by the second baseband signal.
