A system including a camshaft and a camshaft sleeve. The camshaft sleeve has a sleeve-shaped main body for receiving an end region of the cam-shaft. The main body includes a joining region, a bearing region and a seat region. The main body and the camshaft are configured in such a way that, in the mounted state, the cam-shaft is joined in the joining region to the camshaft sleeve, the system having, in the bearing region, a clearance between the camshaft and the camshaft sleeve, and the camshaft and the camshaft sleeve are connected to one another in the seat region via a positively locking means and/or a frictionally lock, in particular a toothing system.

A camshaft and method of producing a camshaft for an internal combustion engine. The camshaft includes a base shaft and an external toothing extending at least in certain portions axially along the base shaft. The camshaft includes a hub with an internal toothing which correlates with the external toothing of the base shaft such that the hub is connected rotationally conjointly and axially non-displaceably to the base shaft. The external toothing has at least one form-fit subregion that extends axially at least in certain portions along the base shaft, or one force-fit subregion in order for the hub to be arranged at least in a form-fitting or force-fitting manner. At least the form-fit subregion or the force-fit subregion is adjoined by at least one alignment region which extends at least in certain portions axially along the base shaft and which serves for the angular alignment of the hub.

Assembled camshaft and method for producing an assembled camshaft

A camshaft for an engine and a method of assembling such a camshaft, wherein the camshaft has a base shaft and an external toothing which extends at least in certain portions axially along the base shaft A hub has an internal toothing which correlates with the external toothing of the base shaft such that the hub is connected rotationally conjointly and axially non-displaceably to the base shaft. The external toothing has at least one form-fit subregion, which extends axially at least in certain portions along the base shaft, or one force-fit subregion in order for the hub to be arranged at least in a form-fitting or force-fitting manner, and wherein at least the form-fit subregion or the force-fit subregion is adjoined by at least one alignment region which extends at least in certain portions axially along the base shaft and which serves for the angular alignment of the hub.

A sliding module having a sliding sleeve and at least one cam segment having at least one cam. The sliding sleeve has a positioning section for positioning the cam segment fixedly against rotation and displacement. The positioning section includes a surface structure on the outer circumferential face of the sliding sleeve for producing a press-fit connection between the cam segment and the sliding sleeve. A stop region is provided configured to limit an axial movement of the cam segment.

A camshaft may comprise a main shaft, on which at least two sliding cam pieces are accommodated in a rotationally fixed and axially displaceable manner, wherein the sliding cam pieces each comprise a carrier tube, on which are seated cam groups each comprising at least two cam tracks for valve-control purposes, as well as an adjustment element that can be brought into operative connection with an actuator for axial displacement of the two sliding cam pieces. A method for assembling such a camshaft may involve providing a module body with bearing bridges that receive the camshaft in a rotatable manner, inserting a first sliding cam piece into a first bearing bridge, connecting the first sliding cam piece to the adjustment element, inserting a second sliding cam piece into a second bearing bridge, and connecting the second sliding cam piece to the adjustment element with the aid of an axial adjustment distance of at least one of the sliding cam pieces in the bearing bridges.

Method for assembling a camshaft in a module body

A camshaft may include a shaft as well as a sliding element that is disposed on the shaft such that the sliding element is axially displaceable along a shaft axis. The shaft may comprise an external tooth for transmitting torque between the shaft and the sliding element. The external tooth may engage a mating tooth geometry formed in a passage of the sliding element. The sliding element on its axial end faces may comprise bearing collars that with the shaft form radial supporting bearings of the sliding element on the shaft. Further, the shaft may comprise cylindrical bearing portions for forming the radial supporting bearings, wherein the bearing portions can be configured with a diameter that is smaller than a diameter circumscribed by tips of the mating tooth geometry that protrude into the passage of the sliding element.

Camshaft having an axially guided sliding element

A camshaft for a multiple-cylinder internal combustion engine may include a sliding element comprising at least two cam elements, as well as a splined shaft that extends in an axial direction and on which the sliding element is received. The sliding element may comprise an internal spline system that interacts with an external spline system of the splined shaft such that the sliding element is seated fixedly on the splined shaft so as to rotate with the splined shaft. The sliding element may be received on the splined shaft such that the sliding element can, at least initially, be displaced axially. For axially-fixing the sliding element to the splined shaft, the sliding element may include a positively locking connection that is configured in the axial direction and is produced by way of at least one calked connection between the sliding element and the splined shaft. It should be understood that many camshafts include more than one sliding element.
