A chemical oxygen device having one or more CO.sub.2 -bonding and O.sub.2 -releasing chemical canisters (2) arranged in a housing (1); a breathing bag (3) for the exhaled air, which itself is arranged in a breathing bag (7) for the inhaled air; an inhalation valve (4); an exhalation valve (5); and a particle filter (6). The usage conditions of chemical oxygen devices is improved by reducing breathing resistances and by an indication of consumption indication in which, at any time, the supply of breathing gas still available is indicated. A bellows (8) is arranged between the breathing bag (3) and chemical canisters (2) to reduce the breathing resistances and the particle filter (6) is arranged at the input of the breathing bag (7). The bellows (8) is connected to an evaluation unit (9), via which the wearer of the chemical oxygen device can check at any time the supply of breathing gas still available.

Chemical oxygen generator breathing device with the exhalation bag

A chemical cartridge for respirators for respirators, the cartridge containing a chemical, e.g., potassium hyperoxide, which when acted upon by carbon dioxide and moisture, produces oxygen from a stream of inhaled air. Two discharge nozzles are provided which project into the chemical and out of which the regenerated exhaled air flows. The incoming flow occurs over a large area and the outflow occurs over a small area with the peripheral surfaces of the discharge nozzles being spaced substantially equidistant from an inlet surface of the chemical, thereby ensuring optimum use of the chemical for oxygen production purposes because a user's exhaled air is caused to flow completely through the entire space occupied by the chemical.

Chemical cartridge for respirators

A self-contained portable personal breathing apparatus that has a casing housing a canister containing an oxygen evolving chemical. The casing is disposed inside a cover which is disposed inside a bag. The cover and the casing form a thermal insulating pocket between them, and with the cover material and the casing material, also made of thermally insulating material, a triple layer of thermal insulation is formed around the canister to protect oxygen produced therein from the heat of reaction of the chemical in the canister. A heat exchanger is situated atop the canister to further cool oxygen before inhalation, and breathing tube extends from the bag to the user for channeling exhaled breath and oxygen.

Oxygen self-rescuer apparatus

The present invention pertains to safety eyeglasses. The safety eyeglasses protect a user against gases. The eyeglasses include a frame having a flat surface and an eye space surrounding both eyes of a user. The eye space is equipped with fittings to accept eye lenses. These fittings are attached asymmetrically at the corresponding angle (60) to the flat surface. The improvement in the safety eyeglasses comprises, on the flat surface of the eye glass frame protruding from this surface, a first and second single fold bellow forming a first and second eye space, respectively, and fittings for the eyeglasses which are a part of the bellow.

Eyeglasses protective against gases

The present invention describes goggles for protection against gases having a resilient frame with two eye spaces each surrounding an eye of the user. The eye spaces are surrounded by mounts which hold the lenses in place. In order to obtain a firm fit and the required sealing-tightness between the lenses and the mounts, the surface of the front edge of the mount is formed with a peripheral groove in which a rigid ring is secured. This ring applies pressure to the surface of the front edge of the mount sealingly securing the lens in a recess in the mount.

Gas goggles

The invention describes a closing device for the gas-tight closing of an ever-ready container consisting of two shells for respirators. The closing device is arranged on one shell part and has essentially trapezoidally designed tension bands on whose longer side of the trapezoid hook-shaped parts are arranged which engage in correspondingly defined counter parts on the other shell part. A tension lever with unequal legs holds the tension bands together under tension.
