A short circuit test device includes: a first line test conductor couplable to a first load line conductor of an electric load network and a neutral test conductor couplable to a neutral conductor of the electric load network; a voltage source switchable to the first line test conductor and the neutral test conductor to output a predefinable test signal; a measurement unit for measuring an electric voltage and/or current, the measurement unit including measurement inputs which are connectable to the first line test conductor and the neutral test conductor, the measurement unit including an output for providing a measurement signal; and a control unit connected to the voltage source and the measurement unit, the control unit: causing the voltage source to apply a test voltage to the first line test conductor and the neutral test conductor and comparing the measurement signal provided by the measurement unit.

Short circuit test device

A single- or multi-pole power circuit-breaker, comprises main contacts, overload- and/or short-circuit current-actuated tripping means, an actuating mechanism for the main contacts, an arc chute and a pressure trip unit having a return element and an actuating element responsive to an overpressure in the arc chute. The tripping of the power circuit-breaker by a trip mechanism is executable both by the tripping means and the pressure trip unit. The pressure trip unit is arranged immediately adjacently to both the arc chute and a main busbar. A tripping lug mechanically engages with the trip mechanism such that an overpressure in the arc chute is transmitted virtually instantaneously to the pressure chamber. The actuating element is configured to switch over directly from a home position to a tripping position, against the force of the return element, in a case of overshoot of a pressure threshold value set by the return element.

Single- or multi-pole power circuit-breaker and modular system

A contact mechanism includes a current path having a 360&#xb0; winding formed by a plurality of conductor sections and having an axis that is perpendicular to a plane in which a rotary contact body is movable. The conductor sections include a first section with a first current conductor that extends to a fixed contact. A second conductor section extends through the fixed and rotary contacts. A third conductor section extends through the rotary contact. A final, conductor section, including a second current conductor, extends to the rotary contact body and runs parallel and in close proximity to the first current conductor. Each of the first and second current conductors are substantially parallel to the rotary contact body in the closed position and are formed as straight and rigid busbars having a length corresponding at least to a length of a contact arm of the rotary contact body.

Contact mechanism of an electric switching device

A latching device for a circuit breaker includes a manual operating toggle moveably arranged between an OFF-position and an operation-readiness position, a moveable contact and a fixed contact, wherein the moveable contact is configured to open and close a main circuit of the circuit breaker. An energy storage mechanism is configured to store an actuating force of the toggle by the toggle being moved from the OFF-position to the operation-readiness position and to exert the stored force to the moveable contact to close the main circuit of the circuit breaker. A removable retention lever is configured to prevent movement of the moveable contact into a closing position upon the energy storage mechanism exerting the stored force to the moveable contact. A holding mechanism is configured to hold the toggle in the operation-readiness position.

Latching device for a circuit breaker

An indicator device displays a status of switching contacts of a circuit breaker that includes an energy store. The indicator device includes a lever and a coupling element. The lever includes a display element and is movable between a triggered position and a non-triggered position based upon at least one operational parameter. The coupling element is operatively connected to the lever so as to be movable between a triggered, position and a non-triggered position by the lever. The coupling element is configured to be further operatively connected to a first actuator of the energy store so as to be movable by the first actuator into the non-triggered position when energy is stored in the first energy store and so as to not be moved from the non-triggered position into the triggered position when energy stored in the energy store is released.

Indicator device of a circuit breaker

An electric switching arrangement disposable in an arcing chamber, the electric switching arrangement including a busbar having a termination surface, a moving contact, a fixed contact carrier having a contact facing carrier, and a fixed contact disposed on the fixed contact carrier at a distance from the termination surface and coupled to the termination surface. The electric switching arrangement further including a ferromagnetic switch arc splitter non-positively disposed on the fixed contact carrier.

Electric switching arrangement and mounting method

A current-limiting contact arrangement includes a conductor rail including a stationary contact and including two current loops extending at opposite sides of the conductor rail in respective planes parallel to a center plane of the contact arrangement. A contact arm including a movable contact which can be brought into and out of contact with the stationary contact is provided, the current loops extending in respective planes parallel to a center plane of the contact arrangement and along an entire opening travel of the movable contact. An arc control device including arc splitters and a cassette including a first part and a second part and an insulating material are also provided. The arc splitters are disposed in a positive-locking manner in an interior of the cassette, the contact arm and a part of the conductor rail including the stationary contact extending into the interior of the cassette, and the current loops being disposed in a positive-locking manner at outer walls of the cassette. An assembly of the cassette, the arc splitters and the conductor rail is received in a positive-locking manner by inner surfaces of a switching device enclosure.

Current-limiting contact arrangement

The present invention relates to a switch latch for a power switch comprising a switching gate, two toggle levers which are connected by means of a toggle-lever axle, a helical latch spring and a release lever allowing the control of the change-over point, and thus the control of the release of the switching shaft.

The breaker mechanism for power circuit breakers is the energy storage link between the handle and the contact systems. Known breaker mechanisms are generally too expensive to manufacture. When contact welding occurs, there is also the risk that, in spite of the tripping of the breaker mechanism, the contact system will not open. The new breaker mechanism reliably opens the contact system and consists of fewer and technologically simpler individual parts. It is inserted between two symmetrical breaker plates held in a die cast housing, and in which a connecting piece is mounted. Two toggle levers are connected at a distance from one another by means of a connecting shaft engaged in crossbar cam slots. A toggle lever spring is engaged between the connecting piece and the connecting shaft. A bracing lever which can be driven by the connecting piece is friction locked in the breaker plates, and the toggle levers in the bracing lever. A latch lever and a latch holding the latter in the locked position are friction locked by means of a latch spring in recesses of the breaker plates.
