The invention relates to a method for extracting hydrocarbon mixtures that have an increased proportion of hydrocarbons of a medium chain length (8 to 16 carbon atoms), or the corresponding pure compounds. Firstly, a starting material is provided that includes at least 50 wt. % unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds having oxygen. The compounds include olefin fragments of the formula &#x2014;CCH&#x2014;CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;CH2with at least 14 carbon atoms, carbon atom (C) being saturated with substituted or unsubstituted heteroatoms and/or hydrogen. In a conversion reactor, this starting material is brought into contact with a porous catalyst based on carbon, in the absence of oxygen, and at a temperature of between 200 and 800&#xb0; C.; and a product mixture that contains hydrocarbons is produced containing an increased proportion of hydrocarbons with medium chain lengths. Finally, the product mixture including hydrocarbons is collected and fed to a separating device in which a product separation is carried out.

Method for extracting hydrocarbons with medium chain lengths, and the use of the same

The invention relates to luminaires, especially luminaires to be operated in lamp holders for fluorescent lamps. In order to prevent individuals from experiencing electric shocks when inserting a luminaire, for example in the lamp holder of a fluorescent lamp, and in order to be able to operate the luminaire without complications once it is inserted in the lamp holder, the luminaire comprises a contact section to be inserted into a socket base, comprising two contact pins (B, B) and a centering device (BX) for centering the luminaire in the socket, which is mounted in the center between the contact pins (B, B). The centering device (BX) can be rotated about a main axis of the luminaire to actuate a switch or a protective device.

Light-emitting means, in particular for operation in lampholders for fluorescent lamps

A lamp with a light-emitting unit, at least two separate contact modules and an electrical connection between the light-emitting unit and the contact modules, wherein each contact module has at least one electrical contact for connecting to a corresponding lampholder, is presented and described. So that other lamps can be operated safely as gas-discharge lamps in lampholders provided for them, it is envisaged that at least one protective device for prevention of electric shock is provided on at least one of the electrical contacts in a partially assembled state of the lamp in a corresponding lampholder, and that the protective device is designed to assume a deactivated position in the assembled state of the lamp and an activated position in the dismantled state of the lamp.

Lamp for replacing a fluorescent tube

A process for obtaining gaseous hydrocarbons from a starting material which contains oxygen-containing hydrocarbons. The process includes providing the starting material and contacting the starting material with a porous catalyst at a temperature of 300-850&#xb0; C. in the absence of oxygen in a converting reactor so as to form a hydrocarbon-containing product gas mixture in which a proportion by weight of gaseous hydrocarbons is greater than a proportion by weight of liquid hydrocarbons in the gas mixture. Additionally, the process includes collecting a hydrocarbon-containing product gas stream of the hydrocarbon-containing product gas mixture and introducing the product gas stream into a separation apparatus in which product fractionation is carried out.

Method for extracting gaseous hydrocarbons from biogenic raw materials

The invention relates to a method for producing shaped, activated charcoal. According to the method, after being ground, carbon-bearing material, or a mixture of several carbon-bearing materials are rendered homogenous with a binding agent which contains water, or a mixture of several binding agents, at least one of which contains water. The mixture of carbon-bearing material and binding agent is then formed into shaped bodies. According to the invention, in order to consolidate the grain formation, these are dried until they exhibit a maximum total water content of 3% by wt. in relation to the shaped body. The shaped bodies which have been formed and dried in this manner are then subjected to a carbonization and subsequently a gas activation process.
