A data transmission device has a data transmitter and a wake-up receiver. The data transmitter is activable to change from an idle state into an operating state and to execute a data transmission with a communication partner in the operating state. The wake-up receiver is implemented to be ready to receive an initiation signal during the idle state of the data transmitter and to activate the data transmitter in response to the initiation signal. The wake-up receiver is further implemented to extract data transmission information from the initiation signal to determine a time for activating the data transmitter depending on the data transmission information or to activate the data transmitter such that the data transmitter executes the data transmission depending on the data transmission information.

A method for synchronization and communication in a multi-hop network includes: transmitting a synchronization signal by a central node or a previously synchronized node, with a beacon slot assigned a beacon and the hop count value of the transmitting node transmitted in the frame of the synchronization signal, and, for all previously synchronized neighbor nodes of the transmitting node transmitting respective beacon slots and the hop count values in the frame of the synchronization; receiving by a first node the synchronization signal and the data transmitted in connection therewith; synchronizing the first node to the synchronization signal; detecting by the first node its neighbors and their respective beacon slot assignment and hop count values; determining the predecessor of the first node in the network by the first node in dependence of given criteria; storing by the first node the data received with the synchronization signal and data received in connection therewith and determined therefrom; and repetition the foregoing steps until synchronization of all the nodes.

Method for synchronization and data transmission in a multi-hop network

A device for determining a device position, which includes a receiver for receiving signals of a plurality of transmitters and a determiner for determining reception powers of the signals of the plurality of transmitters. The device further includes a provider for providing transmitter positions of the transmitters on the basis of the signals of the plurality of transmitters. The device further includes a determiner for determining a first position of the device on the basis of the transmitter positions, wherein the determiner for determining the first position is further formed to determine transmitter directions on the basis of the first position and the transmitter positions, and to determine a second position of the device on the basis of the transmitter directions, the transmitter positions and the reception powers.

A system and a method for monitoring grouped objects with a gateway and a plurality of radio nodes attachable to the objects. Each radio node has a computing unit, a short-range communications unit and an energy supply unit. One of the radio nodes or the gateway has a localization unit. Optionally, one of the radio nodes also has a long-range communications unit. The computing unit contains a control program for the processing of predetermined tasks in radio nodes, which is designed for the control of bi-directional communications between the radio nodes via the short-range communications unit for the formation of an ad hoc network. The control program undertakes the control of a tuning process between the radio nodes and selects one of the radio nodes for the processing of one of the predetermined tasks, the selected node at that instant being best suited for the task according to predetermined criteria.

System and method for the monitoring of grouped objects

A method for monitoring a group of objects, and an arrangement to implement the method includes providing each object of the group to be monitored with a radio node of a self-networking radio network, whereby each radio node within the group has a unique identification. The radio nodes of the group automatically reveal themselves at a starting time and network with one another. The radio nodes of the group monitor themselves from the starting time and convey at least one specified change in an initial mutual situation. At least one of the radio nodes when notifying or recognizing a specified change, conveys information concerning the change to a monitoring unit and/or controls an alarm transmitter for activating an alarm.
