The invention relates to a transport and handover system for storing and removing or relocating storage goods () in high-bay warehouses (), in particular in a transshipment facility of a seaport or inland port for the storage of standard containers, wherein the high-bay warehouse () consists of an arbitrary number of warehouse modules (), which are arranged next to each other in the longitudinal direction and in the width direction of the high-bay warehouse () extending transversely to the longitudinal direction and which have a plurality of rack compartments () lying one over the other in the vertical direction, said warehouse modules being separated from each other by aisles () extending parallel to the storing and removal sides of the rack compartments () or warehouse modules (), wherein at least one storage and retrieval machine () that can move back and forth is provided in each aisle () for transporting and storing and removing or relocating the storage goods (), and a storage and retrieval machine (). Accelerated transfer with fewer steel constructions is achieved in that the high-bay warehouse () is designed with at least one transverse conveying device (), which crosses at least some aisles () and conveys the supplied storage goods () into the high-bay warehouse () and/or out of the high-bay warehouse. For handling of the storage goods () provided from below the level of the running rails (), the base bar of the storage and retrieval machine () is designed with a passage opening in a frame-like manner so that the storage goods () can be lifted through.

Containers can be stored, retrieved, or moved in multilevel storage racks of a transfer facility by storage and retrieval units that can travel in aisles extending parallel to respective rows of compartments of storage units of the multilevel storage rack that, for longitudinal side storage of the containers, has a plurality of storage units of a depth corresponding to a container width that are consecutively arranged in rows longitudinally of the containers along one aisle side and are each separated transversely by one aisle. The storage and retrieval units can move back forth in the aisles and have raisable and lowerable telescopic grabs that can be extended and retracted transversely to the aisles for suspending a container. Corners supports in each of the compartments support the containers only at corners of the containers.

Storing, retrieving or moving containers in a high-bay warehouse

The invention relates to a method and to a container transfer installation () for placing containers into and removing containers from or transferring containers () in high-rack or block storage arcs () of a seaport or inland port within a container transfer installation () having an integrated, fully automatic container transport system. An accelerated process having high total throughput is achieved in that individual containers () are deposited by the at least one loading gantry () successively onto pallets () or transverse conveying carts () provided on a transfer cart () that at least has an upper and a lower accommodating and conveying level (I, II) and can be moved parallel to the container storage area (), and the pallets () loaded with a container () are led over means of pallet transverse conveying means () or the containers () are led over by means of the transverse conveying carts () of the transfer cart () from the transfer cart onto an end distribution vehicle (), which can be moved parallel to the container storage area () and is positioned in line before the transfer cart () and has an upper and a lower level (I, II) and are led over by means of transverse conveying means () from the end distribution vehicle onto a stationary transfer station () of the container storage area (), which transfer station likewise has an upper and a lower level (I, II) and from which transfer station a storage area crane () lifts the container () in order to place the container in the container storage area ().
