Low intensity light is incident upon a photodiode whose output is coupled to an integrator. The output of the integrator is coupled to an input of an A/D converter, whose output is coupled to a microprocessor, whose output is coupled to a filter. A second output of the microprocessor is coupled to a gate electrode of a FET to provide a reset signal to the FET to reset the integrator. The microprocessor compares the digital samples of the integrated signal from the A/D converter and, firstly, generates the reset signal if a sample is beyond a set limit, and, secondly, calculates delta values between adjacent samples and interpolates the delta values for the reset periods so as to provide a continuous data stream which can be filtered by a filter matched to the form of the original signal.

Method and apparatus for measuring a low power signal

Systems and methods for analyzing a sample are disclosed. The system may include a light source operable to transmit light onto the sample, a detector operable to detect intensity of the light emitted from the sample, and a power modulator. The power modulator modulates the light source power such that light is emitted from the light source in more than one mode to reduce changes in the emitted light due to temperature changes in the light source.

Light source power modulation for use with chemical and biochemical analysis

The disclosed HV supply device has a first housing part ( ) that serves as an outside cover. In addition, a second housing part ( ) forming two sides is provided. On the first side is the high-voltage supply part ( ), and on the second side is the low-voltage supply part ( ) which is physically or spatially separated from the high-voltage supply part ( ). The second ( ) and the first housing part ( ) are designed so that the high-voltage supply part ( ) is enclosed on all sides in an area within one of the two housing parts after the two housing parts ( ) are joined. The suggested spatial separation of the LV from the HV substantially increases and improves the operational safety when handling such a HV supply device. In addition, it allows easy and safe access to the low-voltage electrical equipment or electronics without having to turn off the high-voltage while minimising the danger of contacting it.
