A housing is provided for a radiator blind of a motor vehicle. The housing includes a base section that is configured to accommodate the radiator blind and a prescribed port. The housing also includes an adapter section that is secured to the prescribed port. As a result of this measure, the housing can be used in various installation situations.

A device is provided for the emergency operation of at least one closure element of a cooling air supply apparatus and a correspondingly implemented cooling air supply apparatus for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, a closure element being mechanically operationally linked to an actuator. The closure element is situated so it is movable between a closed position, in which it essentially closes a ventilation opening, and an open position, in which it releases the ventilation opening for cooling air to flow through. The actuator automatically transfers the closure element into the open position if a predetermined temperature is exceeded.

A front section of a motor vehicle body encompasses a bumper and bumper bracket that are designed to retreat during a collision while absorbing energy and momentum, a fresh air passage and a sealing element situated behind the bumper for modulating the throughput of the fresh air passage, which can be dragged along by the retreating bumper or bumper bracket. The sealing element has situated upstream from it a gap that allows the bumper and bumper bracket to retreat without simultaneously taking the sealing element with it.

A front part of a motor vehicle body includes, but is not limited to a bumper, a bumper bracket, and a fresh air channel. At least one movable closure element is situated in the fresh air channel to modulate its throughput. The bumper bracket forms a wall of the fresh air channel.
