Method for producing polymers comprises connecting polymeric molecules at least one of which contains tertiary amino groups chemically bound in the chain in the presence of materials such as elemental halogens, compounds of the elements of groups 3 through 8 of the Periodic Table containing one or more halogen atoms or halogen containing organic compounds. It is possible to connect chains of identical or different types and in this way increase the molecular weight, produce block copolymers, cure films and varnishes and perform vulcanization and the like at ambient temperature.

Method for producing polymers

Process for producing polymers comprising connecting polymeric molecules which contain chemically bound tertiary amino groups in the chain by oxidizing the macromolecules to be connected with air or an oxidizing agent such as compounds containing a peroxidic bond, for example, inorganic and organic peroxides, or organic anhydrides. It is possible to connect chains of identical or different types and in this way increase the molecular weight, produce block copolymers, cure films of varnishes and perform vulcanization and the like at ambient temperature.

Process for producing of polymers by connecting of polymeric molecules

Monomeric conjugated or unconjugated organic compounds are polymerized in an initiator systems consisting of an organic peroxide and a macromolecular compound consisting of a polymer or copolymer of styrene or styrene derivative containing at least one tertiary amine group chemically bound by all its valences to carbon atoms in its macromolecule.
