A method of determining the depth of a sidewall core sample taken from a borehole relative to a reference log of the borehole. The method includes obtaining a reference log recorded on a reference log depth scale and a borehole image log recorded on a borehole image log depth scale of a portion of the borehole from which the sidewall core sample has been taken. The method further includes generating a calibrated borehole image log from the borehole image log and the reference log and identifying a candidate sidewall core image artifact in the calibrated borehole image log. The method also includes assigning a confidence value for the candidate sidewall core image artifact based on a characteristic of the candidate sidewall core image artifact, and determining, using the confidence value, a probability that the sidewall core sample was collected at a certain depth on the reference log depth scale.

Methodology for automated verification and qualification of sidewall core recovery depth using borehole image logs

Systems and methods identify events during a well operation. Systems and methods receive data identifying parameters for the event related to the downhole well. An interactive graphical representation of a hierarchical taxonomy for selection of a selected classification for the event is displayed. The hierarchical taxonomy includes a plurality of classifications of well operation. A tool for identification and classification for the event is presented. The tool also serves for the purpose of data collection to allow development of automatic well operation events recognition models. The data identifying the parameters for the event are compared to historic data related to a plurality of events identified with the selected classification to determine one or more performance parameters for the event.

Systems and methods for workflow to perform well logging operations tracking and efficiency assessment

A wellbore radial positioning apparatus includes a tool body and a motor that actuates a traction wheel. The tool body is configured to be positioned within a wellbore. The motor driving the traction wheel is connected to the tool body and is configured to rotate the tool body in the wellbore. The traction tool is configured to frictionally contact or attach to the wellbore. The tool body is rotated in the wellbore by the action of the motor actuating the traction wheel.

A positioning device for adjusting an axial position of a tool within a wellbore includes an anchor configured for attachment to the wellbore at a fixed axial location within the wellbore, a shaft coupled to the anchor, and a coupling member to which the tool is rigidly attached. The coupling member is configured to be translated along the shaft to adjust the axial position of the tool with respect to the fixed axial location of the anchor within the wellbore.
