A system that can detect a congested network node device that is overloaded due to number of user equipment (UE) devices connected to the network node device being determined to have exceeded a connection threshold; determine a second network node device that is available to establish connections with at least some of the UEs connected to the congested network node device; identify a third network node device that is transferring UE devices to the congested network node device to create additional connections; and transmit a cell individual offset (CIO) parameter and cell hysteresis offsets to the third network node device to reduce transferring UE devices to the congested network node device, and another CIO parameter and cell hysteresis offsets to the second network node device to increase establishment of the UE connection from the congested network node device.

Management of overload condition for 5G or other next generation wireless network

For carrier's that have a large number of user equipment (UE) devices camped on them, the experience of a user equipment devices that utilize a subscriber prioritization identity (SPID) can be of a lower quality than it would be on another lower priority carrier because of the carrier load. Thus, SPID based UEs can be placed on carriers with the best throughput potential in the uplink. To achieve this, a SPID profile for the SPID based UE can be dynamically changed such the SPID based UE can transition to a carrier of better quality. UE devices are grouped per SPID ranges and each SPID has assigned cell carrier priority. In one embodiment, a system optimization network can monitor and detect UE performance on each cell and determine which cells are underperforming and which cells are performing better than other cells.

Dynamic facilitation of traffic steering for 4G, 5G, and other next generation networks

Facilitating frequency selective scheduling in advanced networks (e.g., 4G, 5G, and beyond) with multiple transmission points is provided herein. Operations of a system can comprise facilitating an activation of a frequency selective scheduling based on identification of control channel elements used for a downlink control channel. The operations also can comprise instructing a user equipment device to report a subband channel quality indicator and a subband precoding matrix index based on a result of an evaluation of a metric determined based on channel conditions. Further, the operations can comprise scheduling the user equipment device with a subband based on the subband channel quality indicator and the subband precoding matrix index reported by the user equipment device.

Facilitating frequency selective scheduling in advanced networks

Adjustment of a transmit power parameter, such as a ceiling level, is disclosed. Signal-to-noise type information and committed power information can be employed to determine the ceiling level adjustment. A ceiling level can be a predetermined cap on transmission power for downlink or uplink channels between a user equipment and a base station. Where there is sufficient headroom in total transmission power and a power level greater than the predetermined ceiling can be effective, the ceiling can be adjusted to greater values than the predetermined value. Where total transmission power is more committed, ceiling adjustment can be prevented. Further, where there is no adequate benefit from increasing the ceiling, the adjustment of the ceiling can be prevented. While some instances can result in optimized transmission levels below the ceiling, instances can also be accommodated where the ceiling is to be increased.

Detection and prevention of heavy congestion in a wireless network is disclosed herein. Radio links are monitored and if the number of radio links reaches a first threshold level, one or more network parameters are modified in order shrink a cell footprint and/or to control cell reselection. The monitored radio links can be downlink circuit switched and packet switched radio links. Alternatively or additionally, an uplink noise level can be monitored and if the uplink noise level reaches a second threshold level, the one or more network parameters can be modified, even if the number of radio links are not at the threshold level.
