A transmission line circuit is described which includes a conductive plane, a plurality of signal traces, and an intermediate layer between the conductive plane and the signal traces. The intermediate layer maintains a substantially constant separation between the conductive plane and the signal traces. At least a portion of the intermediate layer comprises air. The signal traces and the conductive plane form transmission lines.

Flex-circuit-based high speed transmission line

A method and apparatus are described for providing electrical connection between a first array of contact points and a second array of contact points via a layer of anisotropically conductive material in contact with the second array of contact points. A membrane is provided having a plurality of apertures therein for receiving the first array of contact points. A plurality of electrical contacts is also provided, each of the electrical contacts being coupled to the membrane and at least partially in registration with one of the plurality of apertures. The electrical contacts are for contacting the first array of contact points through the plurality of apertures. The electrical contacts are also for electrically connecting to the second array of contact points via the layer of anisotropically conductive material. Each of the electrical contacts is operable to move substantially independently of adjacent electrical contacts.

Membrane-supported contactor for semiconductor test

A bandpass filter is presented which allows variation of bandwidth while passband gain remains constant. The presented bandpass filter relies on feedforward (as opposed to feedback) to compensate for losses within the bandpass filter. Two feedforward circuits are shown, one a current source and the other a voltage source in series with a resistance.

Gain control bandpass LCR filter with variable bandwidth

A bandpass filter is presented which is constructed so that bandwidth of the bandpass filter may be varied without varying gain from an input signal to an output signal when the input signal is at a center frequency. A crystal resonator is connected in series with a compensation resistance, and a variable resistance. Ignoring shunt capacitance, the crystal resonator may be modelled by a capacitance, an inductance and a loss resistance coupled in series. The compensation resistance is chosen so that the voltage drop across the compensation resistance is equal to the voltage drop across the loss resistance. A transformer having a primary coil, a secondary coil, and a 1:1 turn ratio between the two coils is included in the circuit. The primary coil is coupled in parallel with the compensation resistance. The output signal appears at an output of the secondary coil.

Gain control compensation for bandpass filter with variable bandwidth

The method provides for reduction of distortion in the main channel of an electronic signal processing system by means of two summing networks and a control network. Distortion reduction is accomplished independently of the main channel's characteristics. One of the two summing networks as well as the control network can be made to be passive. Only under the provision that certain transfer characteristics of the two summing networks satisfy a prescribed relation can total elimination of distortion be achieved.
