Dual cameras that simultaneously capture RGB and IR images of a scene can be used to remove glare from the RGB image, transformed to a YUV image, by substituting a glare region in the luminance component of the YUV image with the pixel values in a corresponding region of the IR image. Further, color information in the glare region may be adjusted by averaging over or extrapolating from the color information in the surrounding region.

Glare removal using dual cameras

In an embodiment described herein, a method for a mechanism to turn a post processing feature in the Device Media Foundation Transform is described. The method comprises managing, at a device integration service executing on a computing device, a current setting of a feature and updating the current setting as stored in a registry in response to a changed setting of the feature and asserting a setting changed event. The method also includes applying the updated current setting to captured media samples via the Device Media Foundation Transform in response to the asserted setting changed event.

One example provides, on a USB input device, a method comprising receiving an unlock request to change a firmware lock state of a controller of the USB input device from a locked state to an unlocked state, determining whether the unlock request is valid or invalid, when the unlock request is valid, updating the firmware lock state from the locked state to the unlocked state and sending a process completion message, when the unlock request is invalid, sending the process completion message without updating the firmware lock state, receiving a firmware update request, determining whether the firmware lock state is in the locked state or the unlocked state, receiving a firmware payload, authenticating data of the firmware payload, and when the firmware lock state is determined to be in the unlocked state and when the data of the firmware payload is authenticated, then installing the firmware payload.
