Methods and systems provide power management for workspaces operating on an Information Handling System (IHS). Power management capabilities of the IHS are registered with a workspace orchestration service that is remote from the IHS and that manages deployment of workspaces on the IHS. The workspaces are instantiated on the IHS according to a respective workspace definition that is provided by the workspace orchestration service. The remote workspace orchestration service provides a first workspace with a handle for accessing the registered power management capabilities of the IHS. A remote access controller of the IHS receives reports of application events occurring in the first workspace, wherein the reports are received by the handle provided by the remote workspace orchestration service. Based on the application events received from the first workspace, power provided by a power supply of the IHS is allocated to each of a plurality of processors of the IHS.

Systems and methods for power management for modern workspaces

Methods and system support use of peripheral devices by workspaces operating on an Information Handling System (IHS), where the workspaces operate in isolation from the hardware and other software of the IHS. Workspaces are thus unable to interface with hardware coupled to the IHS, including peripheral devices coupled to the IHS. In embodiments, workspace issue request for use of a remote operation supported by a peripheral device. A handle is then provided for invoking the remote operation supported by the peripheral device and for providing the workspace with exclusive use of the peripheral device for the duration of a validity of the handle. One the handle is used to invoke the remote operation supported by the peripheral device, the workspace is provided with output from the remote operation conducted during exclusive use of the peripheral device by the workspace.

Systems and methods for use of peripheral hardware by modern workspaces

A peripheral device workspace cloud orchestrator information handling system comprises a network interface device to receive functional capabilities for an existing peripheral device previously operatively coupled by a user to a user information handling system anchor node for a peripheral device workspace defined by a manifest of included peripheral device nodes, location, and peripheral device workspace identification value, and a user composite peripheral device workspace identifier associated with an adjustable operational configuration instructing the existing peripheral device operation, a hardware processor to execute code instructions to identify new peripheral device capabilities within a received new device orchestrated device descriptor for a new peripheral device operatively coupled to the anchor node, determine a minimum percentage of the new peripheral device capabilities matches the existing functional capabilities, and instruct the anchor node to configure the new peripheral device according to the adjustable operational configuration associated with the existing peripheral device.

System and method for determining peripheral device configurations across a plurality of workspaces for seamless user peripheral device workspace ecosystem experience

According to one embodiment, an information Handling System (IHS) includes a workspace orchestration service that is executed to manage deployment of workspaces on the IHS having computer-executable instructions to, for each of a plurality of workspaces instantiated on the IHS, communicate with the workspace to receive application parameters associated with an application configured in the workspace, and store the application parameters at a specified location. The instructions further identify at least one of the application parameters that is to be modified using an IHS management process, and communicate with the workspace to send information associated with the at least one application parameter to the workspace, wherein the workspace is executed to modify the application according to the at least one application parameter. The IHS management process accesses the one or more application parameters from the specified location; using an IHS management process.

Workspace administration system and method for a workspace orchestration system

Systems and methods for migration of workloads across cloud services based upon endpoint performance are described. In some embodiments, an endpoint Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the IHS to: receive telemetry data indicative of a utilization of the IHS during execution of a workload by a first cloud service; determine a difference between a capability of the IHS and the utilization; and at least one of: (a) in response to the difference being greater than a first threshold, migrate the workload to a second cloud-based service with higher performance than the first cloud service; or (b) in response to the difference being smaller than a second threshold, migrate the workload to a third cloud-based service with lower performance than the first cloud service.

System and method for using intelligent staggered telemetry for node capabilities management across nodes in a peripheral device workspace

Shared hoteling workspaces and computer equipment are preconfigured based on location. A location associated with a mobile device is monitored. As the mobile device moves toward a workspace, computer equipment associated with the workspace are automatically preconfigured for use. Different configuration events and operational states may be implemented, based on a locational proximity of the mobile device to the workspace. When the mobile device arrives at the workspace, the mobile device has been automatically paired/registered with the computer equipment at the workspace. Moreover, when the location of the mobile device no longer matches the workspace, the network pairings/registrations may be automatically torn down and deleted, thus making the workspace available for a next occupant.

Best known configurations for workspaces can be managed. Device groups can be defined based on functional roles or organizational departments. Each device group can be associated with a workspace along with a best known configuration for the workspace that is based on the device group. Workspaces can then be deployed to the end-user computing devices based on the device group to which each end-user computing device belongs and in accordance with the associated best known configuration.

A peripheral device workspace cloud orchestrator server includes a hardware processor, a memory device, and a network interface device to receive operational capabilities and settings associated with a peripheral device node operatively coupled to an anchor information handling system node, the anchor information handling system node and peripheral device forming part of a collaborative peripheral device workspace to be registered with the peripheral device workspace cloud orchestrator server.
