A submersible current sensor for sensing a current in a submerged conductor includes: a split core current transformer constructed to generate an output representative of the current carried by the conductor, the split core having a first core member, a first winding disposed about at least a portion of the first core member; a second core member; and a second winding disposed about at least a portion of the second core member; and a housing, the housing including: a first housing member constructed to house the first core member and the first winding; and a second housing member constructed to house the second core member and the second winding.

Submersible split core current sensor and housing

A power harvesting device is provided that may supply low voltage power to operate devices in remote locations. The power harvesting device may be connected to a medium to high voltage power line. First and second capacitors divide the voltage to a lower voltage sufficient to power a device, such as a monitoring device. The power harvesting device and monitoring device may be connected to an electric tower with the power harvesting device being connected to a power line supported by the tower.

Unique systems, methods, techniques and apparatuses of a power line measurement device are disclosed. One exemplary embodiment is a measurement device comprising a measurement device structured to at least partially surround a segment of a power distribution line, the measurement device including a winding portion spaced apart from the segment of the power distribution line structured to receive magnetic flux from the power distribution line and to output data corresponding to a current flowing through the power distribution line; and a magnetic shield spaced apart from the measurement device and positioned radially outward from the winding portion relative to the segment of the power distribution line, the magnetic shield comprising a first section and a second section coupled to the first section at an obtuse angle, the magnetic shield being structured to reduce an amount of external flux from being received with the measurement device.

A high voltage line post sensor for a high voltage power distribution system having a high voltage power transmission line for transmitting electrical power at a high voltage includes a voltage line sensor. The voltage line sensor includes a high voltage high resistance circuit including a first high voltage high resistance resistor coupled to the high voltage power transmission line and a second high voltage high resistance resistor coupled to the high voltage power transmission line in parallel to the first resistor; and a low voltage low resistance circuit coupled in series between the high voltage high resistance circuit and a reference voltage. The line post sensor also includes a body surrounding and encasing the high voltage high resistance circuit and the low voltage low resistance circuit.

Line post sensor

A split core current sensor a core subdivided into a first core section and a second core section, each of which have a first end and a second end. The first core section and the second core section are spaced apart by a gap. The sensor also includes a plurality of coil windings disposed about the core. A first coil winding is disposed proximate to the first end of the first core section; a second coil winding is disposed proximate to the second end of the first core section; a third coil winding is disposed proximate to the first end of the second core section; and a fourth coil winding is disposed proximate to a second end of the second core section. Each of the first core section and the second core section include a central portion disposed between the first and second ends that is free of coil windings.

Instrument transformer for power grid conductor includes: a current sensing device having a secondary coil winding through which a power grid primary conductor is capable of extending and connecting to a primary conductor connector, a first low voltage (LV) lead connected to the secondary coil winding and a LV connector, and a first high voltage (HV) lead connected between the primary conductor connector and a HV connector, the voltage sensing device having a core with a primary coil winding, a second HV lead connected between a HV connector and primary coil winding, a grounding conductor connected between the primary coil winding and an output terminal, a second LV lead connected between a LV connector and output terminal, wherein the current and voltage sensing devices are electrically connected via HV and LV connectors, and wherein the current and voltage sensing devices are separable when corresponding HV and LV connectors are disconnected.
